1 to change the light bulb
1 to post that the light bulb has been changed
6 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
3 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
6 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
6 to flame the spell checkers
8 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 8 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
7 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
3 to report the participants to the admins, complaining that they are in violation of their "acceptable use policy"
3 admins to come and threaten to ban anyone else flaming
6 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
4 to demand that cross posting to hardware forum, off-topic forum, and lightbulb forum about changing light bulbs be stopped
9 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
12 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
9 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
14 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
5 to post pictures of lightbulbs and lightbulbs being changed
12 to point out that all they see is a "red x"
7 to flame the picture posters for not knowing how to post a picture correctly
3 admins to come in and threaten bannings a second time.
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
33 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
3 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
5 to quote the "Me too's" to say "Me three"
4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ
6 to ask what is a "FAQ"
5 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
19 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"
1 new forum member to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again
-
ROFLMAO
-

Thanks stealth.. you made my day..:)
-
you have missed some options:
1 to post the picture of the changed lightbulb into the post.
6 to warn the poster to 'Red X Alert'
-
3 admins to come and threaten to ban anyone else flaming
This sentence might mean the end of this thread right at the beginning ... :doubt:
-
that's covered by the "broken URL" sentence ;)
but i'll add it anyway
-
Seen it before though, on PCG.
-
yeah, i just edited it to make it more "HLP appropriate" :D
-
ROFL :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: You have waaaaay too much time on your hands there Stealth. :D
-
oooooooook

cross-posting from other forums should be banned! ;)
quite the funnay. but there should be some more, like:
1 admin to close the thread
4 other admins to reply to it even though it's closed.
3 members each starting a new thread on changing light bulbs.
-
A bit bored, eh, Stealth?
-
You forgot the serial double posters, Stealth. Those guys, and the people that quote huge posts or a dozen pictures with a single-line reply of their own which actually only refers to a tiny little bit of the quote or people that quote a post despite the fact that their own post is right underneath it... they get right up my nose.
Oh and while I'm on the subject, people who habitually use the following smilies:  :mad2: and :doubt: need slapping with a stick of wet celery. Yes.

33 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
and kode: i didn't just copy it, i changed at least half of it, removing and adding where i saw fit :D

Pure classic HLP...well done!
-
yeah, it is classic, isn't it ;) LOL
DG: i don't think that would fit in to the whole event pattern :D
if you give me what to write, i'll add it to the list ;)
-
Probly best to forget it mate

Definitely one of the funnier things I've seen in the last few months, with the possible exception of Simon Travaglia's 'Bastard Operator from Hell':
Originals:
http://bofh.ntk.net/bastard.html
Years 2000, 2001, and 2002:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/30/15804.html
http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/30/25244.html
http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/30/29055.html
In particular, year 2000 episode 36. Very funny.
But yes, the lightbulb jokes are always amusing.
[Shouldn't that be 'light bulb'? :drevil: --PyroDescenter]
[:sigh: --*Descenter]
[*loads shotgun* --MercDescenter]
[How much do we have to pay you to let US kill him? --PyroDescenter]
[Put it this way... there's not enough wealth in the universe. *BANG* --MercDescenter]
[*splat* X_x --PyroDescenter]

Please do not lock or threaten everyone with locking a thread immediatly.
Give the others time to modify their posts, or order them to do so. If they do not do it. Feel free to lock.

Silence, or be banned!

No more hosting! Infact, I'm marching over to 3DAP to pull the plug on the entire server and the dynamic servers. That'll teach you all to mess with the HLP admins!

1 to ask when the 3rd light bulb is coming out
1 to give him a friendly "you're about to get flamed" warning
6 to flame him about asking about the 3rd light bulb
3 to explain to him calmly about how the light bulb company no longer has the rights to the light bulb

Want to get banned for talking about it? ;7
