Title: HLP 2004 Wall Calendar
Post by: Galemp on September 20, 2003, 05:49:22 pm
Most of you know about the Freespace/HLP store at CafePress that I manage. (Check my signature.) Well, they now have avaliable 2004 wall calendars! I'm looking for 13 renders to print on this calendar that we can all buy. :)

We need one cover and a render for each month. Trimmed it will be 11 x 8.5 inches (the size of a normal sheet of paper) but you should give it a 1/4 inch bleed on each side. DPI can be from 150-300, which makes the final render resolution 1725 x 1350 pixels.

If you're going to post it here please make sure it's scaled down. :nervous: Renders for which you sill have the original source are preferred since you can re-render them at a higher resolution.

It could very well make the cut, so long as you add the bump, self-illumination, and specular maps.

I can do your whole calendar if you can wait till November. ;) When are the submissions due? Oh, and if you can put up with my super-low-resolution renders from the Array, you're welcome to take any of those. :)

woo! A Steak calendar! Maybe you could render using your favorite community mods...

Well, if we can have them by December that'll let us order and have them arrive for New Year's.

Dude, they're all my favourite. ;) That said, I would rather that we have renders from everyone, but if I end up being the main contributor, we'll keep an Array Calendar as the backup plan. ;)

Hey I can contribute. Here are som of my renders. I have resized them all to the resolution you requested.

This is the render of the banshee I made some time ago, but I still like it.

This one was made in June

Here's the improved version of the render I made last week.

Everyone remembers this one:

If you see red x you must copy paste the renders or it is because the site is temporarely down.

Can someone tell me where I can make a web-page that would be relyable and not show red x?

LVLSHOT only scales the appearance of the image down; right now you're forcing everyone to download half a gigabyte of images.

Rescale them to 800x600, then post them.

No. That's not what he means. When they click the link to see it they have to DL the whole image... Making it smaller makes it easier for 56kers and the like to get it.

Get it?

You know, I should ask Styxx and see if he can get the thumbnail generating script on HLP 2.0 working in the Forums...

Ok Ok but I can't bother to do it right now. Sorry. :p Besides, you can't see all the necessery details on a low res. That's why people do renders in AT LEAST 1024*768.

ok, aside from all the comotion caused by the forced dl'ng of some obscenely large pictures, where does the money from the store go?

AFAIK it goes to CafePress - they simply allow people to invent product lines.

Indeed. You can set higher prices manually and reap the profits, but I think GE has them set at the minimum price (ie. no profit except to Cafepress).

It's not hard, but would only work for attachments and files hosted on the dynamic server.
