It still needs tuwwets and a big wed cylindew node glued to the back. It's guns don't wowk, it's engines are scwewed, it needs LODs (easy) and it could do with some shields but othew than that, it's pwetty much done (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif). And it only uses 2 Dock maps and one from the Karnak.

I weally like it.

Ps, not sure how well the texturing transfers to FS2. Tried it but can't remember what it looked like.

Holy **** !!! That is sweet!!! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

*jaw drops* holy sh**, how did you do that? would you be willing to texture my ships? id be really grateful...the ITN campaign will be released as soon as i have to ships done. PLEASE!!!!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. They're just basic textures mapped with a ....err....cylinder? Sphere? Box? I dunno really. I made it about a month ago. I only remembered it coz Bobboau said you couldn't make models from more than one primitive. Incidentally, it's made of 4 cylinders and 6 U shape boxes and work in FS (beside the problems listed up top).
-
That looks great! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) Is it a science vessel or something?
Also, Elmew Fudd wules. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

The rings on the back link to an in-system node allowing large task-forces (fighters mainly. Nothing big) to bypass blockades. Or at least that's what it was initially for. Suppose it could be a node studying vessel.

that looks pwetty good.

I think I've stawted something.
-
Tawking like tweety boid?
It's... red. And brown. Not bad- that's how you skin stuff! Oh, except from the top, the rear torii... need to add another 3 on top or something for that...

What? More U shaped boxes?
-
Whatever that shape is. You probably need a thinner one to stick out and give them some less... ugly textures from the side.
-
Or I could just texture them properly instead of using a cylinder projector (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif).
-
thats an impossible ship, if your talking intersystem jumping you can perform that anywhere, if your talking about intrasystem jumping, you need a stable energy tunnel, no something "portable"

*jaw drops to (RED) China* WOW You did an exelent job. are you a pro or just a biginner? I can't even do what you did (if that was one of you first ship)!

I didn't say it wouldn't work I said it wouldn't look as good as single subobject hulls, of course this model is going to need seperate subobjects, the rings need to rotate don't they.
the only reasons for useing multable subobjects are,
for turrets,
physical subsystems (such as rotating sections),
the hull is too complex and needs to be seperated to fix Shards-o-death without killing detail (and you have to be carefull when doing this),
or inexperence and/or laziness.

Bobboau, bringing you products that work.............. in theory
-
Wow... quite impressive. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
-
or inexperence and/or laziness.
Bingo!
The rings don't rotate, but I suppose they could. I might make 'em rotate when i get round to finishing it. Need TS to finish it though.

No the first, but the first one that wasn't modelled while I was tired/stoned/killin time.
