This was just a quickie render, but it looks good...
That's those 1000+ x 1000+ skins, and smooth quad divide. :D
-
I like it:yes:
But the ship's a bit too close to the screen.
-
I want to do a real render with it, but I never can think of anything good to do with one, besides mine...
-
This one's a better view

you may want to be fixing that linky :)

Looks good with the subdivide, Raa. Bump and spec would finish it up.
As for an 'action' shot, you could always put her next to an installation, unloading gas. You could also do a drydock image, or an under-construction image.
-
Funny thing is.. it is bump and reflect mapped... Just not too strongly...
I have yet to find a combination that works very well... But I remember you saying that standard models are one of your pet peeves, well this model is about 19000 polies. :D

Yet you can still see the polies along the edges of the curves. Use judgement when applying polies; where will it make the most difference?

I let the program do it automatically... it's not as sophisticated as I'd like it to be... It doesn't let you do it on a per face basis... Only the whole object or nothing at all.

Gas chambers look sweet.
-
Yep, She's a beaut... :D

those vasudan ships work great with quad dividing. nice and curvy. wouldn't try that with a herc.
-
It might work with a Herc II though.

Second pic is definitley a better view:yes:
Nebula's cool too.
