Title: "Energy Mines"

Im not really as new here as my # of posts may indicate.  I'm a long time SCP follower.
Here's my question: What about a secondary weapon that could latch onto the hull of a capship, drain subsystem energy from things such as weapons and engines, then use that energy to explode, with the force dependent on a.) the type of ship and b.)the amount of energy dranied.  
Well, what do you think?

Exits are to the sides and rear. Personal flamethrowers are located beneath your seat in case of emergency or naughty disposition. If you run into any Shivans while crawling through the ductwork, it's probably just Carl. Give him your lunch, back away slowly, and you'll be fine.


Ill add it to the weapons flag thread and hopefully some1 will code it.

Energy Sapper from Tachyon...does the same thing...

...might be useful in dogfights...or to capture a transport or cruiser...

instead of actually 'drawing power', you could just make a flag that would make warheads stick to a target, and explode after like, a minute...

It'd also be cool if you could, for defensive purposes against the weapon, be able to use disruptors on it so that it doesnt detonate, but just...stops.

having never played that, i wouldnt know...but that sounds like a good name for it.  I always thought the leech cannon was the most useless tactical weapon in freespace, anyways.
