Title: Mystery cutscene, or I've lost my mind
Post by: ZylonBane on October 01, 2003, 02:49:56 pm
I'm starting to think it's been tooo long since I played the main FS2 campaign through. I just stumbled across this review (http://www.hardware-one.com/reviews.asp?aid=50&page=1) which contains this screenshot, supposedly from one of the cutscenes:

I could swear I've never seen this shot before. Sooo... a cut cutscene, or early senility for ZB?

That is from the ENDGAME cutscene, in a very brief moment where you see Terran and Shivan forces fighting before Capella goes nova.

My first thought was the Deimos and Moloch duking it out just before the supernova shockwave hits, but there isn't enough nebula in the background.  Maybe an early version of it?

Ahhh yes, the end sequence. Funny, all I remember is those two ships getting smashed by the shockwave front.

It's a different angle to the cutscene so yes, it'll be a development shot

No it isn't. I took the shot below a split second after the part in the pic at the top of this thread.

It's the final ENDGAME custcene that was shipped with FS2. It's a Moloch, a Deimos, and some fighters duking it out, seconds before the shockwave hits. After this shot, I believe, it cuts to an upper view of the two, where the shockwave hits and the Deimos and Moloch are ripped apart.

Well I'll be. I thought the ingame angle was more down the middle, between the two corvettes. Oh well, shows how long it's been...

I think there is another clip from several seconds before that shows this.

when they are first seen, there are serapeth and other fighters between the two, and the hatsheptsut in the backround, which looks like it was filmed in game from strait on the side view, and then turned slightly in the final video, as the shockwaves are egg shaped...

Just make a copy of the GOTYE CDs and play using the copies. It's what I do, my original CDs are virtually 'loved' beyond recognition. ;)

my "white label" budget releases got damaged ages ago. I got original FS2 and FS1 Battlepack from e-bay. (as well as numerous SNES games).

Wish somebody would make me a copy. I have only a copy from KaZaA and the HOTU version. Atleast the KaZaA version has the voice acting. :D

The movies are available for download as avi files (for FS2 open). Check the FAQ below.
