...about upgrading to XP. How long this 'hardware check' should take?

I went and got lunch while it was doing that. I don't think it took much longer than 15 mins, though. :nervous:

Hmm...mine's taking more than 20 minutes (cause I just didn't wait more)

The weird thing is that the bar and time countdown won't move...

My bar didn't move... I don't remember about the time countdown. :o

Personally, I'd give it another go, and this time leave it for at least an hour (do it overnight, or go out to the shops). It might just be really slow. ;)

Should only take few seconds. Last time mine did that, my hard drive was busted. Just to, you know, fill you with confidence :)

Bummer...waited for 3 hours. Gave a win32 app error after that. :hopping:
