Bob, what prog did you use to get that perseus to convert?
PCS gives up immediately, and cob2pof high limits goes to the end, but then dies a valliant death...

NOTE, THAT IS A BUILD I MADE, I HAVE A CORUPTED LIB, THEREFORE THAT EXE WILL BEHAVE BADDLY, IN ADDITION TO THE CRAPY LIGHTING SYSTEM, oh yes the crappy ligh management system, I am in the middle of reworking it and it's current state is worse than ever, I don't recomend useing that in game too much...

don't do anything but look at it, it has no data, so it won't work realy well in game
it won't load in anything other that the exe I posted, and I alredy warned you about that
it was only for testing of the capabilitys on the new engine

5378 polys, and 5264 vertices! Thats quite a few.
pretty good, but personally, I think the fins at the rear of the engines looked better when they were squared off at the ends.
needs a little work with the skin, but overall :nod::yes:

It didn't open in modelview for me... :confused:
And that PCS didn't work either... :( SDL.dll not found, or summat.
I'll ask Kazan for a copy. Maybe he'll be nice and make one. :p :D

uh, you have to put that exe in the PCS folder, becase Kazan has a dynamic link fedish or something

Which version of Model View you got there my pedigree chum? Try this one (www.swooh.com/peon/diamondgeezer/blah/ModelView 5b.exe), it's the latest one I know of. It's only a guess that you're using an older and lower limit version, but in any case new versions of ModelView = 1337 :nod:

for some reason, OGL HT&L (yes im doing it) detects the perseus has an obsence number of polygons. like 1 billion or so. its crashing FSO

in 2d.h raise the MAX_POLYGON_TRI_POINTS to 25000, the limit I had before was too small for a model of this size and was overwriteing the n_poly in all but the first index of the poly list array

I use the subdivide button on the mesh, then use the 'extract final mesh from subdivide object' button, recombine the LOD's from the original, with the high-poly one replacing the original LOD-a, then I save the whole bit as a cob.
I open PCS, click cob to pof, and it does one of 2 things: 1 - Crashes immediately, or 2 - Holds for 3 seconds, then crashes...

by crashes, is that illigal operation, closes down, or just doesn't seem to be doing anything (like it locks up and you can't do anything but ctrl alt del and close it)?

I get the generic win2k error message: "PCS.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows." This time around it held for about 6 seconds, and the tabs all disappeared, then I got the death notice.

hmm, how may polys is it again?
maybe you shuld put it up and let me take a crack at it.

All LOD's, turrets, destroyed turrets and debris combined is 14423 polies (In TS)

It's probably that my PC isn't powerful enough to convert it, because even a loley persues, without all of the subdivision, only a little quad-dividing on the round bits won't convert.

you'r higherarchy is all screwed up, all those turrets need lights, and the main LOD was in a sub object to the lowest LOD
I think you took it one too many subdivisions, I havn't tested poly ounts quite this high, though it is alredy triangulated, so it might be ok

...? It looked normal in TrueView, and I could have sworn I had lights on each and every one of those turrets.
It's level 2 subdivide, but you said 10-20k polies, no? The main body is only like 8k... Stupid Truespace...

and it might (should) work, I just havn't tested quite that high yet
oh, I got the cob to convert, took 33 seconds on my athlon 3000, though it will have the incorect hierachy

I just fixed everything, and still PCS crashes, do you want another copy?

for simplicity sake why not just cut the lower detail levels

the abstract group miner02va-hull should have all the lower detail levels in it and be the top of thr group

all I did was convert it, and look at it in the tech room, it still needs pof data
