:wtf: But surely that's... not... possible... :wtf:

It is so possible. I've done it many a time. And I've even exported models for LTN.

Methinks Blender might soon be the HLP modeler's choice application. :drevil:

[EDIT]How do you think I got just about every FS1 fighter model into Blender? NOTE: The way I did it doesn't really work anymore. VRML isn't very reliable. So I had to find a new way and the new way works to perfection. :D

Make sure Kazan doesn't here you saying that. And presumably you've found a way to stop Blender turning models inside out?

How odd.  I never had a problem with that.  Just make sure the faces are all turned the proper way and make sure they're single-sided.  (Hint:  When on single-sided mode, faces appear gray when facing out, black when facing in.  When everything is faced right, your model should look kind of like a black hole in Blender. :) At least, that's always how it worked for me.)

Edit:  I know that sounds insane (All your normals should be facing in?  What kinda crazy... ?!!! ) But trust me, it works.

Well I've found that when I load up my DFXs in TrueSpace, they're mostly inside out. A quick application of the Flip Face tool sorts the problem out, but if I didn't do that the POf would be FUBARed, see. So I'm wondering whether Snoj's methods overcome this problem?

Hey Snoj, just out of curiosity, are you corresponding with any of the Blender community on this little endevour of yours?

I go straight from .blend to .cob. The only problem is that texture map locations aren't saved. :\ But UV maps are preserved, so you just need to re-apply the textures.

Nope, so far I'm the only one. :) If anyone else here knows something we could use Blender for in FS modding and are willing ot write a tutorial they can sure join.

No, I meant like people who hang around the Blender site and have probably never heard of FS. Like actual Blender gurus. I assume they have a forum or something.

No. I haven't advertised at www.blender.org or www.elysiun.com. I think I will when I finish The Blender Project 2.0 site. (yes I know I just launched the site  )

I've added information on which frame number needs to be selected for the key frame. Which I forgot all about. :blah:

I'll contact one of the admins about changing the one listed on the HLP resources page later.

Have fun. :D
