[color=66ff00]As a lot of you may know Venom kindly donated the OTT models to the Freespace Upgrade Project. We've since had a good look at the project and realised that although the models are fantastic, they don't push the engine in the way we need them to.
As such I think it's only fair to release the whole OTT model pack (with Venom's approval of course). For all those who have waited to play the game with these rather remarkable works of art IMHO, wait no more! :)

Link refuses to workio.

Would it be excessively cheeky to ask for the tbl file too? :nervous:
Link worked fine for me. You're not using rightmouse--->Save as are you? Cause that won't work.
-
Oh, released already?
I didn't take part in providing the files, btw, Woomesiter did, so I take no responsability about missing files, and maybe there's some pof that are outdated ( I have no idea what version woomeister had ), so they might be buggy ( all the final pofs are bugfree, so if there's a bug in one of the ships, well, it's not the final one).
As for the tbls:
no, for a few reasons: the ships were balanced for OTT, bare a few shivan ones, any of those ships could eat five of their FS2 counterparts alive easily, I suppose. then I'd have to release the weapons that goes with them ( of course I realise that a ship like the aoh, which uses a particular weapon, will most likely need new pof data if you wana use it, as it is... well, you'll see ), so that means another tbl, and a load of effects. so no, make your own tbl.
But if you wanna have the ships alike to what they were supposed to be in OTT, just ask for a description, and I'll write it down.
final note: if you attempt to reskin the ships, prepare to go through quite some pain :p

Actually I don't care too much about the weapons and rebalancing the ships isn't a problem. I'm just too lazy to bother matching the names with the pof's, that's all :)
Also others would probably appreciate not having to figure out where the nebula trails go (not a problem for MG but others will have to add them themselves).
Anyway either way this is a nice boost so I won't push for the tables :D

Sweet! I wanted those V concept fighters! :D

Oooooh...I like this.
Here's my opinions of the ships I've looked at so far:
GTF Raziel: Excellent, although the gun mounts are way too high, making accurate marksmanship difficult.
GTF Ezechiel: Another stellar model with an excellent skin, a great shape, and plenty of firepower
GTF Ladiel: The name "Over the Top" is no joke! This ship has SIXTEEN (count 'em) gun points. Isn't eight plenty?
GTB Uriel: It's...big. Almost Jotun size, but more Over the Top. It has 8 gun mounts, 4 turrets, and 38 missile points in two banks.
TCF Benkei: A far more normal ship, with four gun mounts. Apparently a space superiority fighter
GVB Aoh: This thing is...weird...
TCD Ryujin: Like Inferno's Tereus, but bigger and with more greebles and uglier textures.
I'll check out the others in the morning.

The Tereus was the original version of the Ryujin that's why they look similar.
The only ones I know that are not final are the Shivan fighters and the Ennead, but you can find the final versions in Inferno. Don't forget there's the alt map for the Mihos in Inferno too.
SF Serpent - was reconverted with better shield mesh and smoothing
GVF Ennead - was smoothed
SF Chimera, Hydra, Harpy - Slightly improved POF data
SCv Scylla, SC Lilith/Abel - INF versions fully pathed
SF Succubus - stopped working on my PC for some reason, so I reconverted it, that version there may be buggy and isn't final
The rest where the versions I found in the OTT modpacks so should be the final versions...

Oh, Venom, you are seriously tempting me to break my vow to not re-install SPIRE until November... ;) Well, I'll certainly have a lot to render when I get there, eh?
-
well, having a few renders from you with my ships would certainly make me happy, that'd make some good things for me these days, for a change...
-
Kewl. Outstanding work, Venom. :)

Ooooooooooooook, before my PM box exploses:
do NOT ask me for anything, it's not my problem if there's missing files or something. My original plan was to release ships one by one, so I can deal with problems as they come. They've all been released together, and I can't handle that. I'll ignore any requests. I'm gonna post a description of the ships later, and that will be it.

Some of the models are awesome, some are funky, some are just...ew.
I like the Ezechiel and Raziel a lot and might use them, however, I did some tweaking. On both, I swapped the missle and primary banks. The "missle pods" just seemed to be better as guns to me. Though this did weaken the Eze.
The Raziel I did more work on. Hope you don't mind. >>; 1, I did the swap, but thought it might be cool as an assault fighter. I added 2 guns, though the texture is kinda vectored. I also added a different texture to those vents, turning them into missle launchers. Kinda looks like a Terran version of a Manticore.

Though I'm having errors with the gunpoints I'm adding, but that's a question for another topic.
Edit: Nevermind, I figured out the problem on my own. Just gotta test them.
