POFCS (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,14325.0.html) is the best converting prog.

But it doesn't display 90% of the textures on my PC, and it always crashes when I exit...

Where am I supposed to have the EXE, BTW?

well, in a folder with the other files that are in the zip,

and it looks for textures to be in the same place as the model, just like modelview does (though I lack VP suport)

i meant rendering like bryce rendering (which wont import textured cobs) or whatever setekh uses.

*sigh*

You don't need tools like that. Start with Aurora, it's a lot better than I started with - and a good 2D program, like PhotoImpact (get the demo from www.ulead.com).

While I knew you're partly joking, I honestly believe that your great desire is often mistaken for great necessity. Forgive me for being so serious all of a sudden, but with the sheer number of times I have had people asking me for SPIRE, I feel I must correct this. Start on simple programs and move up - that is how you develop your style.

What's wrong with Truespace Krackers? I know some people don't like it but it will do what you want.

Steak:  Heh, I have 3dMax 5, and TS. Also Blender. I know only how to use TS, so even if I did, by some odd calamity of the cosmos, get ahold of SPIRE, I'd do one of two things with it; I'd try it for a few hours and get discouraged, then go back to truespace. Or I'd Not try it at all and just brag about having it, like I do with 3dMAX5

TS is **** for rendering.

i need a stand-alone tool. So i can make an entire sceen with 1 proggy.

Also what is the limit on polys for ships that aurora can render?

well maybe truespace isnt THAT bad for rendering but id like to still have a sceen renderer like bryce
