Im thinking about naming them the prophets but im not sure.


This is the second ship ive done so far for them:

Right now its called the clam. I need a better name. for the ship and the races.

This thing is 16 km long. Is a mothership of sorts and the symbol on the top signifies the end of the universe.

It has 14 beam cannons, 6 placed evenly on the rim and 8 in the brown center part a la Sajuuk and the dreadnought from HW2.

Thats all im revealing cuz its for a campaign of mine.

It looks like a (poorly) textured m&m, especially for it's supposed size. Just for reference, it shouldn't look flat from the top view if it's 16km in diameter and not flat..

well, if it's a new race, seems odd to me that it uses shivan, terran and vasudan maps, no?

Agreed. Custom maps own. No matter how alien you make a ship model, it's always going to be either streamlined, boxy or spiky enough to make people think it's Vasudan, Terran or Shivan (Unless you make it bulbous I suppose, and I don't mean like this, exactly - more detailed). Anyway, I'd demonstrate by showing the only public image of one of TIs new species but I don't want to threadjack, so I wont.

Anyway, yeah, go custom texs, and a more detailed model.

I agree, it needs new textures.  If there supposed to be ancient, maybe something along the lines of a stone wall kind of setup with light coming through the cracks?

mmh, I'd suggest a look ala thirdspace gate as seen in the eponym babylon5 movie.

Looks slightly Bentusi to me, but a nice model nonetheless. I'd suggest bits on the top and base of the model, i.e. Pods, nodules and other sticky up and down bits, otherwise flying across the ship is going to skew your perspectives a bit :)

Get some new textures for that thing and add more greebles to the top and to the middle. And where are the engines?

That recessed bit probably.  though you don't necessarrily need to have recognisable engines........

I suggest greatly increasing the texture tiling.
Once you fly close to that thng you won't see nothin'n!

Says the master of the overtiled ships...
I say leave the tiling low, unless you mix up the texture you are using.  You can offset the blurring of textures by using super-sized texture maps.

except volition got all dumb and put thruster glows onto the demon and lucifer in FS2 when they were absent in FS1...

Do something about those textures, mate. Something, anything. Search the net for a new set that suits your vision for the new race, just... don't leave em' Shivan. ;)

If you really want to, go for it, but that is one of Picard's many mythic, dead races from the first couple of seasons of ST:TNG.

Hi,  Can I steal that for the Robotech2Mod? Since it's a clam and the Invid use Clamships for assualt transports (holding a few hundred of mecha), I think it would work well..? sound ok?
