Title: New destroyer
Post by: Sigma on October 10, 2003, 11:25:01 am: One of my new destroyers I'm using in my campaign:

Discription:

The new Thanatos-class multirole destroyer is the replacement for the old GTD Hecate. With its huge firepower and great numbers of fighters the Thanatos often acts as the command center for directing ships in battle. Over 2700 metres in lentgh the destroyer only needs a crew of 6000. The GTD Moonshadow, the flagship of the 2nd fleet, is a good example of this new ship class.

It is one of my best ships so far.
What do you think?

I do ask that you change the name, as the TVWP plans to use a PVD Thanatos in the T-V War (since they have different designations, doesn't much matter, and at the rate we're going now, we won't even get to the actual war...)

Post by: Setekh on October 11, 2003, 03:04:58 am: I do like her, but I think she would look nice with some other textures thrown in there - lighter ones. You won't be able all the mesh's details if it's all in similar (and dark) textures. :)

I see you 'borrowed' one of the models from a Aldo modeldump (the bow)

I suggest, if it's possible, to rotate the rows of lights so they are alined along the long axis of the ship, rather than vertically across it.

Yes, thats the followup of my Saturn destroyer and the bow really is borrowed from aldos modeldump. :D

I don't really want to change the name. At first it was named Saturn, I changed the name to Thanatos because Raptors destroyer was named Saturn, too.

Post by: IPAndrews on October 11, 2003, 08:52:15 am: I agree with Setekh. You should consider using some lighter textures. Great shape though. I especially like the back end. Nicer than J-Lo's. Don't rent Maid in Manhattan. It stinks.
