Are there any tutorials that deal with making of FS2 ships in GMax/Blender? I know that there is a one fighter tutorial for Blender, but I am interested in tutorials on, for example, capships. And I can't find any for GMax.
Finally, is 3DS MAX more capable than GMax in area of FS2 ship modelling?
And yes, I used glorious 'Search' function. And no, I can't just use TrueSpace, as it is hellishly unstable on my computer.

If you can make fighters you can probably make capships. The only really hard part of making a capship is making the turrets.
From what I understand about GMax it's virtually identical to 3DS max when it comes to modelling. The only advantage 3DS has is that you can save in a format that can be imported/converted more easily.
If that is the case then any good 3DS max tutorial should work.

It's also **** to model with compared to the greatness that is Max. You're missing nothing :).
Anyway, GMax is pretty much an exact clone of Max 5 or 6 or something, so it's pretty close to the best modeller in the series. If you have the equivalent Max though, it'd be better to use it, as you'll get a handle for the proggy, and get to play with the rendering buttons (ripped out in GMax).
As for tuts, grab the ones from the GMax website (Or directly from the DL page yurr[/url). Once you understand how to model and use the modeling features (which these tuts should teach you, making the ships is more a matter of creativity than something a tutorial can teach you. ()
