And you're not on my list, I'll probably tell you to piss off - if I can't see your details. Cos i reinstalled ICQ and have only a few people on my contact list, i think a lot of stuff may just get blocked. And I have sod all idea who was on my list in the first place.
Apologies in advance for anyone I ened up insulting. :)
So, er, just PM me.
-
same here, only that's my all-time policy.
-
I sent you a spam message.
-
Bah. You never reply to your messages anyway, Sandy. :doubt:
-
Ex-squeeze me?
-
I send you messages all the time... And no. I don't feel like squeezing you right now.
-
add me b1tch :D
-
heh, everyone using ICQ should install one of the 2001+ versions once and then ditch it in favour of an ICQ v8 supporting client like Sim or Gaim. Server-side contact lists own.

Bah. Sandwich always answers ME. ;)
And yes, GAIM rocks beyond belief. Except for on Yahoo, but that's Yahoo's fault, not GAIM's.
-
The latest versions of Gaim fix the Yahoo stuff, the only time I'll ever be grateful to Trillian for anything. I'm just hoping as quick a solution can be found for the impending MSN lockout...
-
Mmmm, ICQ... that mystical land where I never get any work done. :) If anyone's trying to reach me on ICQ (I get offline messages occasionally "are you there Steak?"), I apologise, but I hardly ever use IMs because they limit the amount of work I can accomplish during the time I'm online (read: I don't get anything done). PM me if you have something urgent.

The most recent version of GAIM in /usr/ports (FreeBSD) still has some annoying quirks for Yahoo. It cores trying to send a ~, and tyring to send any HTML character entity. There's a few other characters that kill it too. I only use it for talking to my wife so I'm just mindful of the chars that cause problems.

yeah, but what if we wanna chat? :D
-
Lol, well, I never thought about that. :D Seriously, though, if I always stuck around on ICQ, I would (a) have half the renders I currently do (because I don't get any work done) and (b) have half the posts I currently do (because I kinda chat through here). So I dunno what you wanna call that, a necessary evil? :p
-
Or you do as I do: you put yourself on invisible, and put only a handful of people on your visible list so they can see you, that way you're not bothered, but still can talk when you want, w/o being disturbed if you don't want to :)
-
I do that sometimes, actually. ;) But sometimes my invisible doesn't work... :nervous:
Heh, oh well, I'll remember to do that after my exams. Around then I'll be able to chat to everyone here lots because I can stay awake at obscene hours of the morning and fit into your time zones. :)
-
"Looks at how Steaks post count increased dramatically in the past few minutes"
to me, you already fit in that time zone pretty well, at least :D

That's true. Years of training in HLP have prepared me for this :D
Anyway, I'm finally tired, so I'm heading to bed. Enjoy your cookie :p
-
which reminds me... venom, when did your post count get reset?
-
mmh, last month I think?
-

Well, I have something like 300 people on my list - 170 from Australia, 130 from around he world - no ignores. ;)
-
i got about 799
let see
6 from HLP
356 from around asia (150 from japan)
Australia (73)
China (53) etc
others are around world
-
A lot of Australians, I see. :) How do you know so many? You visit often?
-
yeah i visit in australia many time as i can
it's great country
-
Australia is on 'my 3 places to visit before I die' list, alongside Barcelona and Rio. Unfortunately, I'm not particularly fond of air travel nowadays, never mind day long journeys. :(
(not to mention the monetary factor)
-
Everyone loves Australia. I can't figure it out, does that mean I never need to travel, because I live in the best country already? :nervous:
Nah. ;)
-
Whenever I get hassled over ICQ by people I don't know, I use the old Eddie Izzard line.
"Hi. I'm crazy Eddie. I stick babies on spikes."
That usually does the trick.
-
There's probably a usenet newsgroup developed to that very practice, though. alt.baby.onspikes

I object to my name being used like that. :p
I want to visit Japan... basically the only things I know about it, I learned in history class. :sigh:
