I have an awesome screenshot of a space scene and need a place to stick it so i can show you what freespace should be like.
I know the poll has nothing to do with this topic but i thought, 'what the hell.'
-

Fortunately, there's very little stopping us with the SCP - we have HT&L for the complex models, we have always had the ability to alter how the sun looks, we can put in the planet through traditional means and PSP/PS skillz, the BG would be tricky, but nothing a slightly stretched 1024x1024 pcx couldn't at least emulate.
In short, yay for the SCP :D
-
What game is that?
-
EVE Online
The brighter white stars are moons, and the brighter blue stars are planets.
-
That's technically do-able with the SCP now, I believe. :)

yeah i think so too:)

Depends whether Sticks ever got that 'Thin' nebula thing working and whether it could be implemented in this way ;)
Flipside :D
-
i have an idea for using the background styles found in IW2, FL or EVE. i just have to figure out how to do something like it.
-
while your at it, the models too... :)
-
The ability to have high-poly models is already done ;)
In fact, all my models are for T&L-enabled versions only, now. I'm assuming others are going the same route.
-
except all the models are put into files with a .STUFF extension. Unless you can extract .STUFF files i guess they are pretty useless.
-
...
What we do around it is MAKE our own models ;)
-
Yeah, why steal from other games when we have exceptionally talented people right here on tap?
-
lol :D He's right, why bother with a bunch of copywrited models?
-
cause they look cool!
And i can get screenies from several different dimensions so that you can remake them as similar as possible. Then you can cut and paste the textures but even thats pretty crude.
-
Screenies... Bah. We can do just as well as any of them...
-
Macross style fighting:D

The main difference between what EVE currently offers and FS2 Open is not technical ability, but the quality of the artwork (eg. nebs, thruster flares, etc.). :)

If you can extarct the backgrounds from those games, it's easy to put them in FS2 ( same way I did for that sky sceary a while ago ).
As for ships, I wouldn't spit on having the Gallente Tristan in FS2 :D
-
i still want that sun :D

*cough*its started*cough*
