Okay.. all you people have to do, is say why you got your first name... for example...
my mother partly named me after Saint Luke..the other reason... Luke Skywalker... True story
-
They liked the name.
-
grandfather...
for those who don't know, its Rob
-
It's my Father's name... :doubt:
-
Michael Patrick Kerrigan
First name is my dad's middle name, middle name is grandfather's middle name. Nothing interesting. :)
-
My dad, grandpa, great grandpa, and great-great grandpa were all named Robert, so I am too.
-
Well I can't rightly say. But I can remember that there was no one already named Josh in the family. One reason may be the Joshua of the Bible.

shit, if my mother had called me "John" when my last name was "Smith" i'd have shot myself in the head
-
I have no idea why my first name is Jon.. but whatever. My middle name is after my great grandfather who served in the Dutch army in World War I. :)

It was socially acceptable then. As in Roman times.

You mean you don't want me anymore...?

My immediate family got together and thought about it for a few hours. Sadly, I got stuck with Clinton Neil Kralik.

because it must farking blow to have the name "John Smith" :D ;)
-
Well, they chose my middle name first (Kent) to go with my older brother and sister (Kevin and Kylie), then my dad found out he had an affinity for Old English names, so he named me Edward. :)
-
that's badas$ :D :D :D :D :D
-
Lol, well, no one calls me Edward these days anyway... school friends call me Eddie (if you think I had a lot of names here, like in my sig, I have twice many names among my school friends), teachers mostly call me Ed, family calls me Ez. Go figure. :p
-
so you've got multiple names... that's even cooler :D
-
Including the ones I have here, I've got like 16 names. :D

It wouldn't really be bad.. there are plenty of worse names.
-
Yeah, like... well, where's Petrarch and his title?
-
Ah yes. I think Rusty is worse though.
-
Not quite. :p Anyway, here is my full list of names, if anyone wants to know:
[list=1]
- Edward Kent Woo (full English)
- Eddie/Eddy/Edi (alternative spellings) or "Edddaaaaaay" (yelled out very loudly)
- Ez (family)
- Eds/Edz
- Edster
- Edman
- Double D (from some cartoon)
- Edo
- Mr. Ed (yes, the horse)
- Setekh (way back in January 2000)
- Stekh -> Steak (of Steaks)
- AWACS (haven't been called that for a while)
- Strawberry Jam (joke - if I ever get run over, this is what I'd look like)
- Neo/The One (apparently I look something like him when I'm decked out in sunnies and trenchcoat)
- Woo-Tang (Wu-Tang, played the parody character in a school entertainment festival thing)
- Woo Ga-Sun (Chinese name, roughly means "Smooth-sailing family")
There ya go. :D

i'm sorry to hear that, AWACS.

My sibs and I all have Bible names, guess my parents chose one they liked. My middle name is from my grandfather, so I ended up with lots of stern "Caleb Grant!"s when I was a naughty little boy. ;)

-
oh right, i have the memory of a goldfish...

[EDIT]If wasn't clear enough earlier I was meaning ancient Palestine, as in Bible times. :p

Yeah, that's how we pronounce her name... :)

You can type almost anything with one hand. Infact, this entire sentence was was writen with one hand. :p
Even clicked "Submit" with the same hand.
-
You know what else can be typed really quickly with one hand? Edward. Heh, I like that. ;)
-
oh and yeah, hotsnoj, that's what i meant in my later post too.

very handy (arf arf ) when you browse porn sites :p

My dad's called Philip Richard Beverley, so they just stuck Graham on the front of that, supposedly after Graham Hill, father of Damon Hill.
I intend to use similar tactics, so that generations from now there'll be some poor sod with about 12 middle names.

don't know "why", but I do know it was either "Pete(r)", thats' my name, or "Greame".
-
Well, my name was going to be Robert, but my uncle on both sides of the Family was called Peter, and family pressure won out.
Flipside :D

I don't suppose anyone here is called Alphonse, which is a bloody shame, as it's a great name.

I agree, I would have liked being named Alphonse ( it's a damn old french name, not used at all, but still I like it ). Hence why te main character of my comics is named Alphonse :) ( also a hint to Patlabor ).

Perhaps just because they liked the name... and it is short "Aki"
-
I was named after myself. :D

probably because you're asian. any asian (tall particularly) with a trenchcoat and dark sunglasses will look like Neo. in fact, i'm sure pretty much anyone in the world will look like Neo if in the right costume with the right makeup...
i dunno though, asians naturally look scary when dressed as Neo. my friend Jimmy (from mainland China) looks like neo, even though neo's not asian... it's one of those mysteries of life ;)
-
I think he's 1/16th Asian... that would explain it. :D
