cool, I hope that he doesn't die on re-entry.
also, i find it wierd that there isn't much other media attention for it.
-
Not much attention? Have you been watching the news lately? Or have you visited news sites? Its all over the place. In 2004 or 2005 they want to have a man on the moon.
-
well, i only have time to read the papers, and then only the not so high quality "eindhovens dagblad". but i'd expect some live TV stuff right now.
and the only news site i visit are because of links on forums.
i know, i need a life.
-
That might finally put the "faked moon landing" idea to rest. :D
-
mmm, wierd, all the shots of this thing are pretty zoomed out.
and really, the faked moon landing thing is pretty awfull.

hehe, I was thinking exactly the same :D
Tho I'm pretty sure they would find something, like the chinese being bribed or something.
-
Now we just need another country to do the same. Space Race 2.
Mexico gets my vote, or India.
EDIT: Now why hasn't this post registered on the forum?
-
check your cache? hm... chinese food being served in 0G... interesting...
-
yeah and it took them 30 years...
-
[q]yeah and it took them 30 years...[/q]
They'll catch up with the other big communist state in another 30 years and hopefully break up. ;)

tee hee hee. :D
Yeah, this is cool. Any space exploration is a great achievement for humanity in my book; screw the politics. I'd rather they be launching astronauts than testing nukes, anyway.
-
This is a happy day.
Seriously, it is. :)
-
Agreed, and although it seems like the wrong way to go about it (we - humanity - should be doing it for science and exploration, not power) but if the other big powers in the world (US, Russia, etc.) see other countries getting on with things like this - they'll get worried and increase their own programs. Progress will be made one way or the other - it just takes someone to keep the pressure on.
-
Oooh I resisted the bad china joke long enough... PLease don't get angry at me for this, but:
How'd they get up there? A rice rocket?
*ducks for incoming flames*
Really, I'm the least racist person I know, but I couldn't resist it...
-
i see a bunch of rice rockets on the way to school. losers
in other news, this better be a kick in the balls for nasa
-
In 2004 or 2005 they want to have a man on the moon.
It would be nice if China could pull something like a moon landing in 2004 or 2005
-
No way. Sorry, they don't have the rocket. It took us nearly 8 years at one quick step to get there. When I see them pull out the Saturn V, then I'll believe.
-
Nobody ever said they had to show off everything they do to the world as soon as they got hold of it, did they :p
-
Lets face it the first most of the public heard of this is when they announced that they had put a man up there. Who knows that they don't already have bigger rockets halfway completed?
-
I just think people are viewing China as a third world country a bit too much. China is certainly a superpower in this world, at least moving towards it very quickly.
-
i am happy for China now they could move to new era
-
I personally think (and, to some measure, hope) that China will be the superpower of the 21st Century. It's just too big - if it plays its cards right, it will end up eclipsing the US in terms of sheer industrial mass, and it's arguable that that's what really won WW2 for the US.
-
Good effort China. Go for the Moon shot :D
-
only super power in 21st Century is Japan
*sees to future when japan Controlling world
i just hope this make something good to China
