Ive been working on this retexture of a model sigma sent me and i have finaly finished after starting over because i fubared it but anyways...

Other than this one inteerceptor and the Xenoan juggernaught I will send you a truespace copy of the file through e-mail if you ask. Most of the stuff i have here is not .pofed or tabled but you can do that.
Id like to hear any opinions on all the stuff i have. These are all the models i have ever made -3 which i just ported and dont want to put here.
If someone wants piccys for anyreason ill be happy to post some tommorow.
Edit: Now for piccys (BTW if anyone wants the models of any of these ships except the Unamed interceptor i will be happy to provide you with whatever i have. Only a few of these models are pofed.)

the zeus cockpit was being a stubborn ass so that was my only option.
This skin is very unique because it uses the zeuses maps which are meant for completeley different geometry but it still looks good.

I simply can't get that particular model to load. The viewer client is buggy at best.

Anyways, Krackers, those models are damn way too simple, especially the radar and the Chig fighters. BTW, textures need to be changed on those, too ;)
Jiggawatts is good, but then again it's a simple model. Cartum looks like you warped a whole ****load of polys around into points :P
Interceptor texture, however, looks good. Cockpit should be changed, tho. (The way it is now, it looks funky. Just make two canopy rings at either end).

:D i really like it, it just needs a bit more fun added to it
i think some well placed kewl looking stuff under the wings would help it look better imo

I like the interceptor very much, especially it's 'hot rod' shape. The rest are a great start too.

1st) Properitary plugins are a pain in the ass
2nd) Some of use don't have DX 9 (on my GF's puter right now and she doesn't have it - and i refuse to install it on my computer because it's got too many outstanding bugs)

I'll second Kazan. Microsoft-only plugins aren't much use to those of us who don't run windows 90% of the time.

The cartum was an edited piece of another model but i like it so it stays :p

I already DLed it, but half the time it tells me I don't have DX9 (which I do) so Screw that...

if that happens close all ie windows and go to the site again.

I can get all the others, but I still cannot get the one you're trying to show off. Please, please, please take a perspective shot so we can at least see what you are trying get feedback on.

That's an OK-looking ship, but waaay too many polies. 1500, tops.

Nice ship, but way way too many polys. You should be able to take that down to a thousand easy. Those guns for example, are eating way too many.

Like the argument that more detail on ships means that they are larger, I do not believe you should completely ignore polycounts when going for HT&L. A coder can correct me, but I think that you still need to commit as few polys to a ship as you can get away with. You can throw in more detail and cross the stock FS2 "limit" but there's still no reason IMHO for 20-sided guns. I do, however, find your use of smoothing polys to be very well done. And I still want to see a pic of this interceptor.
EDIT: And definitely no need for 20-sided guns in 8 vertical sections. That is a complete waste of resources, when you will never have much oppertunity to observe it close-up and when the same effect can be done pretty well with textures.

I will attempt a smaller poly v. for FS2 but for now im just making that one for fun.
Plus its not done yet with modeling.

Ok i updated the 1st post to include pics.
The jigga watts is an exact replica of a pill bottle (almost) and on the top it reads " To open push down and twist"

the fighter is pretty cool. Nice job applying the textures.
