So which is it to be?
iTunes (//"http://akamaidownload.apple.com/530x3824/binaries/iTunesSetup.exe")
or...
Winamp5
Winamp download site 1 (//"http://www.yazor.nildram.co.uk/winamp50beta_full.exe")
Winamp download site 2 (//"http://perso.wanadoo.fr/persoariari/WinAmp5Beta-xBetas.tar")
Personally I'm not wild on the "Pro" idea of winamp, but I can't find fault otherwise.
iTunes, to me seems a bit bulky like Media Player.
-
wheres winamp 4?
-
winamp.com doesn't say aything baout anything but winamp 2 and 3, winamp 5 looks like a fake.
-
Winamp 5 my arse.
Anyway, Winamp 2.9x pwnz j00
-
i agree winamp 2 series is way better than 3
-
Winamp 2.91 0\/\/|\|5 m3 +0!!11!!!
And it's not a resource hog like winamp3 or WMP.
-
Winamp5 is real, its a beta as I point out in the poll. Neowin ran the story yesterday and it seems legit, the blurb in the version history makes it seem so. And why in the name of ALL THAT IS LLAMA WHIPPIN IS NO ONE VOTING?!
-
Where's the "none of the above option"? On Linux I use a combination of MPlayer and XMMS and on Windows I use Windows Media Player 9. I plan on giving iTunes a shot when I get the chance but I honestly doubt it'll have the OS integration necessary to tear me away from WMP.

*a happy mpg123 user* ;)
Seriously speaking I use mpg123 only when XF86 isn't in use, usually I use xmms.

I oppose this use of equal signs. It would make more sense to use the membership symbol.
e.g. 6 (http://whatis.techtarget.com/WhatIs/images/elem-of.gif) R
This is because the equal sign makes for odd statements of questionable validity.
e.g. Apple = Bad
Microsoft = Bad
Apple = Microsoft
which is true by the transitive property (Assuming that applies in this field...)
;)
-
Apple, with enough memory, runs better than any XP machine hopes its grandchildren can. Seriously, if it werent for the prices, Apple Computers would be today's Microsoft, and Jobs would be ol' Billy.
There really is no argument over which is better, the two OS's are designed completely different and it is stupid to assume that one can discern a 'better' OS. As far as I care, i'd run both if I could.
PS: G4 ownz j00 ass.

WinAmp works fine for me

iTunes pwns w1n4mp. No contest.
- It's cross-platform.
- Share and stream your songs from and to your PC to any other computer--PC or Mac. Basically their music is yours, and you don't need to setup IPs or any of that ****e.
- Works best with iPod. Auto-synchronise voice recordings on your iPod; copy over your library and playlists; whatever.
- Rip and burn music in any format and bitrate, to and from CDs and DVDs, all within iTunes. Forget Nero and ripper programs, iTunes does everything.
- iTunes can use AAC, which is higher qualitty and smaller filesize than MP3.
- iTunes music store... purchase your music LEGALLY .99 a song, with free 30 second previews.
- Audible audio books and publications are also avaliable through the iTunes music store.
- Built-in 10 band equalizer, with presets.
- Psychadelic visualizer with OpenGL... whoa.
- SoundCheck will equalize the volume levels for all your songs, so you don't need to change your volume settings from song to song.
- Automatically sorts all your music in folders.
- Handy dandy drag and drop interface.

I'm going to try iTunes sometime soonish, I've used it on the Mac with little complaint (which is AMAZING since I complain alot about them :))...but its hard to beat the load times and performance of Winamp 2.
