Title: Well here's a thing!

Anybody know a Mac proggy called Sketch Up (http://www.sketchup.com/)?

The chap that's moved in with us does graphic design and stuff for a living, and he showed me this program designed for architects as a 3D sketchpad. You can throw verts, edges and faces around with a suprising degree of intuitive whatsitcalled. It's pretty simple but I was wondering if maybe it could prove a beginners modelling tool... aside from the price tag of course :nervous:

I have it.

I know quite a few people who model with it; I prefer Max, myself.

Sketch Up was one of the tools used by Relic for Homeworld and Homeworld:Cata, particularily during early development. We used it at Dynamix in a very limited fashion. It does work rather well.
