Post by: kasperl on October 19, 2003, 03:05:57 pm
ok, i just dl'd redhat 9, and i ran the md5sum thingy, now, i have a problem.

first, the md5sums from the redhat ftp:
Code: [Select]

disc 1 is fine, the md5sum is exaclty identical.
this is what i get when i do a md5sum for shrike-i386-disc2.iso

Code: [Select]

MD5sums 1.1 freeware for Win9x/ME/NT/2000/XP+
Copyright (C) 2001-2002 Jem Berkes - http://www.pc-tools.net/
Type C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\MD5SUMS.EXE -h for help

[Path] / filename                              MD5 sum
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

shrike-i386-disc3.iso                   af38ac4316ba20df2dec5f990913396d

this is what i get for shrike-i386-disc3iso

Code: [Select]

MD5sums 1.1 freeware for Win9x/ME/NT/2000/XP+
Copyright (C) 2001-2002 Jem Berkes - http://www.pc-tools.net/

as you can see, discs 2 and 3 are reversed somehow, and the md5sum from disc 3 (by filename) is completely off.

i redownloaded disc 3 (by filename), ran md5sum again, and got the exact same result.

WTF is going on?

shrike-i386-disc2.iso

but now, i am terribly confused. what is my original disk 2?
