I just returned from one of my little bike rides through the county and about 2/3rds of the way home as I am passing a cemitary, I hear a light high piched cry, I'm kinda tired and this was enough to convince me to take a break, so I cross the road following the sound and after looking for a minute or two, I find a the cuttest widdle orange kitty witty, so after looking around for a minute, I grab it and start hedding back home (bout 15-20 miles, on a bike, with a kitten) and the thing just won't stop squirming and trying to climb on my sholders, while I'm going 20 miles an hour, down a country road, after bout an hour of this I call home and get someone to pick the thing up, too bad they didn't show up till I was two miles to home, oh well, the things cute and probly has an asortment of parasites and desese, I'll probly be out with cat scrach fever for the next two months.
anybody want a kitten?

Clean up that kitty and get a shot of it. With a camera. ;)

How exactly would you get it to someone? Stick it in in a mangonel and point it in vaguely the right direction?
-

We had that problem, but then we also had an endless supply of relatives willing to look after him. Poor little bugger got killed by a fox a few years ago, though.:(
-
well, i am kinda short in the relatives, and the neighbours have geese, and i'm not sure who would kill who.....
-
well as Setekh said wash it up and take it to a vet. And name him/her HLP... ... ... or not
-
more merciful to kill a cat with a shotgun than drowning them. or just abandoning them when you go home after the holidays (very common here in sweden).
I liek dogs better than cats. don't want any pet, tho, as I can barely manage to take care of myself.
-
I'm a dog person myself, but killing of any kind is wrong unless it happens to be a person / animal that is unsafe to continue to exist - IE those who commit murder, genocide or a dog that attacks anyone it sees and can only really be locked in a cage untill it dies.
Do not talk about killing animals here. That kind of cruelty is not going to get tolerated.
-
My dog died in march... He was attacked by a german shepard who was attacked by 2 white dogs when it was young... We took him to the vet, but he died about 2 days later... :(

:( sorry to hear that.
Anyways, Bob, first thing you want to do is to give the guy a shower. You know how to do that? (No offense, I'm just asking. if you don't, ask me, I used to do it at the animal clinic I worked at for the summer).
After that, take him to the clinic for a checkup.
You can incorporate that into just taking him to the clinic, however, 'cause usually clinics will give baths and dips, too, for a bit extra.
EDIT: And Drew, that's not funny
-
Sorry to hear about your pet Hippo :( I think I'm going to get my camera and start a Pets Picture thread, after all, it's got to beat Gay Pr0n ;) LOL
Flipside :D
-
Well I can't stand dogs - they're big and smelly and hard work, like babies (so I hear). That said, I'm sorry to hear your story Hippo.
On a lighter note I shall have to try and get a pic of my cat (well, technically my parent's cat). It looks like it was involved in an explosion in a paint factory, and is thick as twenty-six toilet seats nailed together

[q]thick as twenty-six toilet seats nailed to[/q]
Hmm, must get pissed on a lot.
-
Not so much pissed on as run over. Never seems to slow it down mind, just keeps going back for more. Must be something in those vet's jabs

They're building a drug empire I tell you!

Bobbou, sounds a lot like what happened to me a week ago. I'm walking home from work and hear something crying behind my apt building. I walk around and see the tinniest kitten (fit in my hand) just sitting there crying, shaking. It noticed me and started towards me, but couldn't even walk. I asked other tenants if she was theirs and no one claimed her.
So I took her in. So small she had to be bottle fed for the last week, every 4 hours (luckily I'm walking distance from work/home so I could go and feed her). Only now is when she's been able to eat normal kitty food, and even then it's food from Whiska's that comes in a pouch. The food is soft so she's able to chew it.
Now she can run and play and is having a blast. The funny thing is that my girlfriend had been tyring to convince me to get a pet since I moved into my new apartment. We were supposed to go that weekend to shelters to see what they had. I found the kitty on Friday.
-
****. You lot are making me want anothing moggy, but both me and my dad have terrible rhinitis, and so if we come within range of them we get a severe attack of eyes and nose.
-
That does it, I'm going home on the weekend to visit the cat. And, er, my family, I suppose.
-
Yep, my mum is allergic to rodents, including rabbits, so, Thank God our house has always been Gerbil/Hamster/Mouse/Rabbit free :)
Flipside :D
-
What you people want is degus. Those little guys rule all
-
No anything but them....
Nothing against them as rodents, but I had terrible experinces with them - musically.
They must've had some Monte Christo gene, cause they were biting on their cage all the time - at first the plastic base, when they couldn't chew on it anymore they'd gone onto the the frame....
Imagine:
4AM - PING! PANG!.......PANG!....PANG!PANG!......PING!

And this is Clyde, the Alien Cat, since her body is much bigger than her head would suggest :D

You guys are going to laugh, but I named my cat after our resident shivan Carl.
See, we've got some woods behind our house and we've been adopting cats out of it forever. You laugh but it's true, we've never been to a shelter to look for a cat. A couple of time for a dog, but never for a cat. Anyways, this monster of a cat came out of the woods one day and just proceded to setup shop like he'd lived there his entire life. I named him after Carl because when he came out of the woods he looked vaguely like a Shivan. It's weird, he's been de-clawed on the front and neutered. He's the most affectionate tom I've ever seen. I'll post a picture when I can get one.

Just today, on my way home, this cat just followed me home , meowing all the way and walking between my legs and even trying to climb up my leg. Cute but I can't afford to spend time taking care of one.

cute cat:)

indeed =^.^=

It's great the way that cats' ears don't change size, so when they're young they seem to have these huge aural appendages.
-
that's what makes them cute, their secret weapon...
