I've been playing this game lately... for those that don't know; abbreviation= IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles, a World War II flight simulator with some kickass graphics :p
I'm wondering if anyone around these parts have it, and if so, willin to make a flight or something. I have this thing for using voice chat and ownting up on people on the internet in team games. So if anyone is interested, ;)

Heh, you prolly snagged my wing with a bullet that didn't really do any damage; so when i stalled into the water it gave you the kill :p

Once I learn to actually land the plane... sure, why not.

What are the requirements for this game? Sounds bad ass. I've been looking for a combat flight sim that concenctrates on dog fighting than long range missle-firing.
I used to play Red Baron (I doubt any of your know or remember that game, that was over 10 years ago) when Sierra Online used to be up and I loved it.

Min specs (off the box) P3 800 / Athlon 700 or better, 256MB RAM (512 recommended), Video card w' 32MB RAM (64 recommended).
I still struglle a bit on it, admittedly - been a very long time since I played any sort of flight sim.

1. Fly perpendicular to runway about 1km from it at about 1200 meters. Slow down to ~350 km/h or slower.
2. After you fly about 1 km from field in the direction of runway, start turning slowly.
3. You should line up with the runway just fine.
4. Start decending and press G to put gear out(make sure ur goin less than 350 or the gears might just pop off your plane :p )
5. Start slowing down...
6. At around 200 km/h you should have your flaps set to landing
7. Should hit the runway(slowly! take your time actually touching down) at about 150 km/h.
8. Turn off your engine(s) - I
8. Press B to brake, use it in short bursts. On prop planes without a front wheel, your plane will tip over and break your prop, etc. After slowing down to 80 km/h, you should be able to pull all the way back on the stick and use brakes in longer bursts.
You should see some of the landings I do though... those are instructions for newer people :p I end up coming up on runways perpendicularly in a me-262 at ~800km/h and making a perfect touchdown without making any loops :D
Hmm, should make a video :)

I've flown flight sims for about 5 years now, and for me a landing is good enough if you can walk out of the plane. It's not like you're taking it up again anyway :p
But yeah, I'm interested. It's always more fun to play with a select group of people than just random players at a random server.
-
Make a video for an example: Although I did make a rough landing; shouldn't have turned off my engine before I landed(so that when i pulled up it would have had more effect)
But yeah, its 10mb, not too big...

:wtf: I'd be semi-insulted, had you made any sense...

Landing in a me-262, comin up on an airfield at 600km/h. Yeah... hrmph :p
note: I think you have to manually skip a few seconds, my WMP froze on like the 10th frame until i skipped ahead a few frames. Weird.
<---Likes making videos :p

What doesn't make sense? You intentionally derailed the topic.
BTW, on ubi.com, my handle is Hotmetal4U, so if you see me around say hi

That's hardly derailment. Saying your mother is a cheap whore would be more to the point.
