Well, just made my first attempt at putting together a spaceship model.
I've still got a lot to learn about modeling, but this kind of approximates what I had drawn.
It's lacking in detail and it's untextured, but here she is.
I call her the Bullfrog.
Anyways, just a prototype for now.
Cheers!

Like I said, first attempt after ~5-6 hours invested :)
I'm using max4 to do this, as I'm also fooling around with animation on my spare time.
Cheers!

I'd like to see the wireframe for that. It would give me a better impression of what's going on.
-
hmm, better than my first attempt...
remeber, once HT&L is implemeted, you can use alot more polys it woould help smoothing some edges out
-
here we go, wireframe.

I think its kinda cool looking. Like a short and fat F22 with some advance wings... Or something...
-
It looks screwy in the first picture probably cause the smoothing groups are messed up. Use autosmooth and save a lot of pain.
-
I like the design. Very nice.

You know, people keep saying that, and the more they say it, the more it gets on my nerves. Intelligent use of polys and smoothing in the engine will get you just as good (if not better) results at the end of the day than just throwing a bunch of polys at a model.
What do they teach you kids these days?

Is with mikhael ^^^
I think it's a damn fine design with tons of potential. I cant wait to see the finished product.

Quite! Quite, right. I myself have never ever made a model over 10,000 polys*, and am damn proud of it!
Well, except for that one time ... but most of it was the turrets! Really!
-
that's a whole lot better than my first model.
*doesn't post picture of first model for fear of laughter*
-
Hmm, the model seems a bit quirky, but I like the basic design. Better than what I could do for a first model. The back needs a bit of work I think.
-
not bad
and polygons don't make ships look good
-
I like it.
Looks best from the rear quater.
