Title: Are your planets are belong to SOL
Post by: Kazan on October 31, 2003, 01:02:53 am
Someone Set us up the solar flare
We get signal disruption
Main screen turn on
It's SOL!
Make your time
You are on your way to destruction

----------
Two X-class Solar flares in consecutive days with two G5 Class geomagnetic storms
1st) X17.2 - Third largest on Record
2nd) X10 - Tied for ninth largest on record

Typically there are only 4 G5 class GMS's every 11 year cycle - there have been two in two consecutive days

It just goes to show, that you think you've got something figured out and in actuality the cycle is larger that you thought.

We had some sorta halfass ones here in Tennessee...they were white, but you couldn't see them too well here because of a local chemical plant.

They were still pretty damn cool though.:)

:( A real pity my digicam couldn't make out the light patterns, I could only really see them with my own eyes.
