I made a 1024 by 1024 24 bit .TGA and improved the taurvis pixelated textures.

uhm kinda.
Try to get rid of those blurred edges, make clear sharp forms
(shivan-like) :)
Add details, details, details. And of course you need to do a new glow map since if you don't, the blurred thingy will be placed on top of the nice new map ;)

just had a look at the .zip
resizing the pic and coloring the right parts red is a good start, but doesn't really make full use of the possibilities. You should add some sharp details (like some scratches, like little hull panels, etc) and get a better overall texture (the metal stuff).

A three meg map, for a bomber? I think that's a little much.:p

I didn't say make them bigger. I mean like what Lightspeed said... Bigger is a start, because it was ridiculously small, but it needs more... stuff.

resized to 556 x 556 pixels so its only 1 mb unzipped now
should improve speed

sharpened it more and reuploaded it
EDit: added B & C levels an re uploaded

You can use JPG's as well you know.
Textures should use the following sizes only:
16,32,64,128,256,512,1024,2048 etc, etc
556 x 556 will turn into 1024x1024 which will likely run a lot slower than if you made it a few pixels less 512x512

resized to 512 x 512 and added 5 reskins using photoshop effects.

A little to much red to black... what I'd love to see is the entire Shivan fleet reskinned with a more black/red style than its current grey/red.

I actualy prefer the grey to the black, dark grey, and I like em to be real shiny
and open up the Nephelem texture in the lowwer right hand corner is a good suply of evil red shivanyness

TGA is overboard, and jpg compression kills color contrast on details, is there no good midway compromise? PNG perhaps?

got that right, its to CPU intensive.
I can only run all the new TGA maps at about 8 or 9 FPS.

no but you can have a black base texture and a shiny shine map :)

I took the airbrush and did a light line and a dark line
