Anyone else seen the Director's Cut? I'm not at all sure it's any better than the original.
Sorry about the crap attempt to recreate the opening whatsit in the thread title...

Didn't see it. The director's cut of Aliens rules though.
-
Yup, saw it in the theater when it played around here.

What did they do differently? Deleted scenes? CGI'd alien or something?
-
4.5 mins of added footage, notably Lambert attacking Ripley outside the infirmary and Ripley finding Dallas and Brett cocooned... but apparently this version is atcually shorter than the original, since Scott cut some stuff he felt detracted from the pace of the film.
-
did he take out the guns and replace them with walkie-talkies?

Strikes Alien : Directors cut off of the list of movies worth watching.

there goes scientific continuity :D I didn't think that scene would be part of what would be added. Ah well, still gonna watch it if I can find some spare time.

The original Alien was perfection. I saw the deleted scenes on the Special Edition they released a few years back; I'm certainly glad that they were deleted and I was disappointed when I found out they were putting them back in. :blah: But I still won't miss the opportunity to see facehuggers on the big screen though.

I sortof like that scene :nervous:
Anyway, the movie was still good.
