Title: What texture could be used for buildings?
Post by: Hollewanderer on November 05, 2003, 02:20:30 am
Well... I need a advice.

What texture could be used as a texture of a building on planetary surface, and do not suck? It include all orginal FS textures, and any other textures that will fit, as long as there is a link to download them.

I need it for demo campaing of Red Tide.

AWACTile1
Capital01-03A
cargot1 would look good with a little modification

That's all I can see for a building.

I think your best bet'd be that custom one. Yeah, that one you're about to make.

Custom Tex's always look better. Give it a go. You may surprise yourself.

I like Paintshop Pro. You can download a free thirty day trial from the homepage[/url. It's designed to be more user friendly than Photoshop, and its easier to obtain han some of the other, more esoteric programs available.

What sort of buildings were you looking to create? (www.jasc.com)

Hmmmm... I'll search for it in my CD Warehouse [Warehouse, not Warezhouse.:p Those are all legal]. I think that I have it somewhere...

And I am thinking about 'normal' buildings, as in, houses, factories etc etc... textures slightly Ancient in style [I am talking about Ancients from Inferno] would be ok-ish, but industral-looking ones can be explained well enough without massive plot-hole idiocy if I am proven to be uncapable of making Ancient-looking ones [or I can just rip off textures off the ships:D]. They will be a scenery for a final mission of demo campaing, as a area for massive dogfight with boatload of fighters and enemy capship hovering above the city, looking menacingly and launching even more fighters. And, of course, falling down on the city when seriously damaged.:drevil:

No, it's a cheaper, easier to learn program than photoshop.  Of course, your being facetious.  I was just pointing out that there are alternatives.  PS is overkill in some situations.
