For Film Studies A/S, I'm having to come up with an idea for a youth film, which I've done. The problem is thinking of actors to fill the roles. Therefore, could you kind people name some actors that fit these criteria:
Male, 15-17, British, tallish
Female, 19ish, British
Male, 40-50, British, nasty piece of work
Female, 40-50, British, preferably cockney
Yes, I know they're all British, but that's how it is.
Also bear in mind that they have to be (fairly) low budget actors.
Thank you all.
:)
Or even, anyone know of a site where I could run such a search?
-
British? Hmm, well, I could make some up for you, but I don't know if you'd be able to tell if they sound like Aussie names or not. ;)
-
Aha! I seem to have found a site that might just be useful.
edit: Or not.
-
Neil Fitzpatrick. James Warren. Bruce Hall. Dave Keun. Michael Everett.
Actually, I didn't make those up. They're the workers at my church. :)
-
Quite plausible, but I need exisiting, established actors.:)
-
Raid the credits of local TV shows. TV actors probably wont be quite as expensive as movie actors, especially newer ones, and I assume you don't ever intend to make this film (at least, not with the actors we suggest)
-
Not a bad idea. I might try that when I get home.
It would entail watching some godawful ****e, though...
-
Oh, you're looking for real people. I thought you wanted imaginary names. :D
Yeah, switch on the TV 5 minutes before the end of some midday TV. ;)
-
I would do but for the fact I'm at college all day. Hmm...
Buggrit, I'll post my request on as many forums as possible.
-
But that doesn't mean you lot are off the hook!
-
dunno, i never really checked the credits on most shows.
however, the guy that used to play the non-fag young guy in "Are you being served" is a pretty good actor these days, AFAIK, he played Giles in Buffy.
he might be good to play a bad guy, don't start on low-budget though.

19-y-o female: Jennifer Ellison. Dunno if she's any good (she was in Brookside :ick ), but who cares? ;7
If you can use someone slightly older, you could have Keira Knightley, or Anna Friel. They're both good actresses, but they're mid-late twenties...
Nasty bloke, you want Alan Rickman. A better evil bastard there never was.
Dunno about the other two, though - you could try www.imdb.com - the Internet Movie Database - it's got complete credits for hundreds of films. :)
-
Thanks both of you. :)
I was looking on the IMDB this morning while I was posting this thread. The problem there is it's only any use if you know who you're looking for. I just wanted to plug in "Male. 16-19. 5'6" - 6'2"." and so on.
Curiously enough, someone suggested Alan Rickman over on the PCG forum.
And I'm not sure why, but I'm thinking of writing a character for David Jason. I do need an older bloke, to play the role of a psychiatrist, and this would make an interesting change for Jason.
-
well, would you mind telling me how that actor was called? i keep losing his name.
edit: damn, i passed 2000 posts without noticing, how annyoing.
2011 now, and still rising. :doubt:
-
I'm looking for him now, kas. :)
Aha, got him.
Trevor Bannister, but erk, he's 67.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0052415/

Alan Rickman is one of the best actors you could get if you want a bit of a nutjob character. Not surprising his name came up somewhere else.
Other great film nutters:
Dennis Hopper
Robert Carlyle
John Malkovich
Steve Buscemi :)
-
Ooh, Carlyle might fit it perfectly. :D
