Post by: WMCoolmon on November 09, 2003, 07:04:17 pm
Example (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/example.gif)

Happens all the time when using Direct3D8, but not OpenGL, in 3.5.5; any ideas?

Specs...
Windows 2000
256 MB Ram
TNT2 M64
Dual P3 733 Mhz processors

That's a debug feature... the red lines indicate some form of processor usage (normally not covering the whole screen, but maybe so on load).  I don't know exactly, but I've seen them on various testing shots that Bob's but up.  Not sure why you've got it happening in the release build though.

that's been changed now -- all builds have it as a capability - it's now set to enable with the command line flag "-cmdline"

The screenshot was taken without using any command lines...the registry is clear, and directly running fs2_open_r gives the same thing.

make sure you update you'r code and rebuild all
if it still does that then there's something screwy going on

you probably checked out your code before i changed it to being a command line option rather than being a preprocessor directive (now it requires _both_)

I'm using the official release version, though...

Ah, well, I'll try compiling my own tomorrow.
Title: same problem

Hmm, just downloaded FS2-open and experienced the same probleme. I think the first time I started it I selected the -fps flag in the launcher, but now even deleting it from the registry doesn't seem to help. :( Anyone knows a solution?

Yet another newbie pops up. Where are all you guys coming from all of a sudden? :D

Anyway

:welcome:

As for your problem which version of FS2_open are you using? 3.5.5 is the latest official version but there are several bugtesting releases since then which cure some problems (and introduce others).

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

I'm using 3.5.5, the filename is fs2_open_r.exe. I read in another thread that it would the most stable version.

edit: Not sure if this might help: When starting the game, the red lines appear before the game itself pops up.

just watch out for the Shivan. Also watch out for them in the duct work.
