Aah! I installed the Media VP's and everything, into the root directory and into the folders the information they contain are listed as in the data section. I tried killing the old files. The launcher won't detect anything. As in Speeach API (Maybe a seperate problem) and the hi-res textures, excetra. Ideas?

No clue... Try the SCP forum?
-
not sure what you'r problem is,
eh, what's your problem?
-
First off, the whole point of the Media vp is to prevent you from having to manually place everything in the correct directory. However, it should still work if you extracted everything.
Secondly, if you've got the sparky_hi_fs2.vp in your root directory it should get used. If it is there and not picking up, then you've got a legitimate bug. However, make sure that you've first chosen an executable as well (as in browsed to probably FS_open_r.exe with the "browse" button on the top of the launcher) and that the Launcher is in the FS2 root directory. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you, other than posting your system stats may be helpful.

What if it's because it's in Program Files? I'm copying it directly to C now. ...After deleting the copies of the vp's I copied to the data directories, which I didn't need to do. (C:\Freespace2\FS2). Anyways...

No luck. At all.

Oh, bajeezus, I feel stupid. I think selecting the hi-res pack is setting your resolution to 1024 x 768. I'm sorry if I wasted any of your time. I thought that the check box selected hi-res. Thank you for all of your help and putting up with me. I wish I knew what I was doing. x.x'''

It comes with time. No need to apologize for anything besides dumping your entire system configuration into the forum.

:D I should delete that.

Hehehe, I empathise with you. Glad you got fixed, enjoy it. :D
