i am doing an assignment for school, and i need to make a A2 sized poster about the ISS. i tried //www.nasa.gov , but that site is utter hell if you want to find somethng coherent. anything on the ISS would be aprreciated, models, images, small factlists, real photos, renders, inside, outside, schematics, anything.

Here's a PDF file you may find interesting.
http://ssppiss.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/icomview.pdf
And one really huge 'artists's conception' picture.

As for the interior... you can use just about any spacecraft interior shots. They're all really cramped tubes, anyway. Look up Mir or Skylab.

http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/apod/apod_search?ISS
Loads of pics, that gradually monitor it all the way back to 1998, so you can see all the bits added. Click the thumbnails to get bigger pics, then click the bigger pics to get even bigger pics :p
The one right at the bottom might make for an interesting addition. There's a fair amount of information for each picture too, which you may find useful.

GE, i love that PDF, it's basicly all that i need with some added pictures and factsheets. any idea on how to remove the background though?
-
I know that Photoshop can open PDF files natively; I'm not sure if it supports layers, though, so you may need to fiddle with it.
At worst you can convert it to 16-color mode then fill in the bad areas.

I was about to reply when I realised I need to read the rest of these messages cause you were NOT referring to the ISS (imperial Star Ship) as in evil Enterprise... :p
-
no, it was about the international space station, in cease you didn;t notice.
and i don't have PS working right now, but i'll fiddle around.

Try http://nix.nasa.gov/nix.cgi and search for ISS or space station. It's a lot of garbage (the search picks things seemingly at random) but there will be enough pictures of the station there, including some concepts and what it should look like eventually.
