So there I am reading an article about how great X-Box live is, and how the current 'crowning glory' Wolfenstein (a year old now?) is soon to be knocked of the top spot by... Crimson Skies.
WTF? I hope to high heaven it's not the exact same game I've got on my PC. Great as it is, it's three years old and it shows.
-
yep Xbox live is good because there is alway's someone playing
and you can speak with other player's and i think Crimson sky look's good
-
it probably is... Xbox Live is overpriced anyway... Every game with multiplayer capeabilities can be run through gamespy...
-
I think it's a bit updated.

Ah. So it's not acutally Crimson Skies at all, it's a sequal. Well the report I was reading never mentioned that. This is what I get for reading state-controlled pap from the BBC.
Actually, re-reading the thread I think our pal Gloriano may have been getting the wrong end of the stick. For the record I am not endorsing X-Box. You'll prize my SNES out of my cold dead fingers before I do that.

that was only my opion you got your own;)
-
Fair enough. But Maeg will agree with me, thus making my opinion righter than yours :D

say after me: i want xbox i want xbox i want xbox i want PSX:nervous:

yes, who cares if it has crappier graphics. The PS2 has way better games than XBOX. And yes I know Halo and Spliner Cell are good, but what else is good on xbox?
-
i don't care if ps2 or xbox is better because i got both;)

The graphics aren't even that much worse. If you look at games like Final Fantasy they are quite on par with X-Box games.
And I agree. A large selections oif generally good games is better then a few few good games with super graphics.

Or look at some screenshots of Metal Gear Solid 3.

Don't suppose you ever played Cybernator atall?
Best robot-stompy game EVAR!!1!

Mmmmmm. Crimson Skies. I never did finish that game because I reinstalled my computer and the Crimson Skies CD decided that it didn't need to do anything after it reached 99% installed. :(
-
I'd tell you how I got my copy, but this thread would get locked ;7
-
Yeah, linking to porn is banned.
-
I played Crimson Skies at my local EB. It's good! If I could buy an X-box, I'd get me a copy of Crimson Skies.
Graphics are pretty good too, aswell as the gameplay.
-
It was made or remade or whatever for the X-Box...so its a totally new graphics engine and whatnot. Ground up...thats what Electric Playground was showing anyways.
-
Penny Aracade love it, so it's okay by me.
-
How can you possibly complain about something with sky pirates? All it really needs is some ninjas in black zeppelins to shoot down, some really big bombs, and a AK-74 shipping with every copy and you've got the perfect game.
-
Don't think anyone's complaining about it. Certainly, I lost a lot of my life to the PC version.
You know that one where you have to attack the security firm's planes while they're on the ground at an airfield? With the train track running around it? I flew in to the train tunnel and flew right along the length of it without one scraping my wings. I was ****ting myself a brick, I can tell you.

:wtf: Why would you want a PSX if you have a PS2? You'd probably get one anyway since you're the sony demigod.

On a side note, for those who ditch the xbox games, they've never tried stuff like, dunno, kungfu chaos, I guess. Take any game from PS2, I'll probably find better on Xbox, except for RPG. Fewer choices on Xbox, sure. Lesser quality, surely not.
Oh, and Crimson Skies is on my "to have" list. Loved the original, will most likely love that sequel.

Yeah, I agree with that. To be sure, I'm sure there's merit in both, and I am quite sad that a company like Nintendo keeps its best developing tools for its in-house developers - but definitely, with an Xbox game you immediately know you'll be getting a higher-standard product. You can go through dozens of PS2 games without finding a real gem.

You'll soon forget all that after a few stints on F-Zero and Wind Waker

How about, Blinx The Time Sweeper, Dead Or Alive 3, Gunvalkyrie, Mechassault, Project Gotham Racing 1+2, Rallisport Challenge, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Steel Batallion, Tao Feng: Fist of the lotus, Brute Force, Amped snowboarding, to name but a few.
Not to mention some stunning looking titles to come such as Fable (http://www.fablegame.com/) , B.C (http://www.xboxsolution.com/article.php?sid=156) and of course the obligatory Halo 2 (http://halo.bungie.net/site/halo/features/h2_screenshots01.html)
What you said was applicable at the launch of the X-Box, though I never really had any problems finding games that I enjoy, but it's fair to say that the 'box is almost certainly getting support by major developers and is going to be getting some revolutionary (hopefully) games with those three titles above.

Gun Valkyrie sucks, but that's beyond the point :P
I'm also eagerly waiting for Sudeki, that would be the first japanese style RPG on Xbox ( even if it's not made by japanese people... ).

The controls suck on Gunvalkyrie but I like the game. Once I got a handle on the controls (to a certain extent, they never really feel comfortable) the game itself was very enjoyable.
