Title: My Graduation Formal/Prom/Dress-Up-Nice Night (photos)
Post by: Setekh on November 21, 2003, 03:42:11 am: Just last Tuesday, my high school finished off the year by getting dressed up and having a nice dinner at a hotel in the city. I promised photos, so here they are. :)

It was a great night. Sadly, that'll be the last time I see a lot of the people in my grade... there's 160 of us, and we're really tightly knit. We'll all be keeping in touch, but a lot of people will be moving interstate to study medicine at other state universities.

Oh, and I have another 80 photos sitting on my HD, but they get a bit repetitive after a while. ;)

Steak: my graduating class was about 450 and i'm going to the local uni. its like a 20 minute drive (15 if you get the green lights and go 55 in 35 zones). i see people i know daily, but i haven't seen many of my friends since school ended and the parties were done. Its nice meeting new people, but its not the same since you grew up with many people you don't see again

I agree wholeheartedly with this statement.

At school, I knew every last person in my year, right throughout my educational life-time (some 750-ish people in total). I knew all their names and loads about them and, being the attention-whore and troublemaker I am, they all knew me.

By the time college started, I saw only about 9-10 of them on a regular basis (as they went to the same college and we hung out).

By the time college finished and the post-college parties ended I saw only 2 of them every so often.

And in the past......1, 2, 3......5 months since all that crap finished, I've spend about 2 hours with 2 of them some 3 months ago.

And they weren't just passing aquaintances either. Some of them I'd known since my first day of school. Hell, one of them was my best friend for 13 goddamn years. I've not seen any of them in 3 goddamn months.

........Someone remind me why I've not killed myself yet?

Icespeed is quite beautiful IMHO but that's only MHO which is of course not really H as I'm stating it here for all posterity, or at least as long as the server stays running, so it's probably best to call it IMO, or simply MO to keep the grammar simple. Then again you could think of it as IMO from the third person which would be I Maeglamor's O but that's just confusing so for simplicity's sake well just call it O and leave it at that.

BTW looks like lots of fun Setekh, extorting food from the locals? Or starting a balloon protection racket perhaps?

Heh, good one, Maeg. :lol: I umm... I dunno, O could be the next big acronym around the HLP forums, couldn't it? Maybe not. :D I paid AUD$85 for the evening, which is something like USD$50, I think.

Yeah, it's a bad time for all the imports. :o Don't worry, though, I'll plan the HLP Union (when we get everyone together ;)) for a time when the Aussie dollar is really crashing and burning, so everyone'll get a good deal. ;)

I had a similar size of graduating class, similarly close nit group, heck the place we had the grad thing looks remarkably similar...I see a few people but not that many. And the people at University are just as interesting if not moreso :)

It'll be ok. Well taken pictures however...well done!
