I can't think of a reason why it won't work if you don't plop it straight into the /data subdir. Extracted files supercede the files in the VPs. :)

how does it not work, dose the origonal effect show up, or is there nothing, put it in the root and be sure nothing will overrule it

Where does it have to be? In the "/data", the "/models" or in the root dir? Or it just has to be somewhere in the dirs to overrule the .vp?
