And they're still coming! :hopping:
Must get my hands on some anti-spyware software. :hopping:

http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ - free spyware remover.
And these messages just pop up when you're not running anything, or when you're running any specific programmes, like IE?
-
google toolbar?
-
Wasn't running any thing besides what you see. The weird part was that I haven't installed any 3rd party software for days! Note that I haven't, one of my siblings may have. * n00bs.
contacted a friend of mine and he told me about spybot. nothing happenin' now.
BTW Stunaep, IE wasn't open. ;)
[EDIT]oops :nervous: IE was open, but it was my own site and I don't have any popup code on it.
-
no, use google toolbar. It blocks popups.

Already do. Infact I've been using it for a few months now :P
-
i use the google toolbar to and it works fine as a popup stopper
-
Since no one has seemed to get this.
IT WAS A BACKGROUND APP THAT WAS MAKING IT HAPPEN!
-
Google toolbar never installed properly for me. No worries, now I use Mozilla Firebird, which I just set to 'only allow requested pop-ups', and which has an extremely useful search box which you can customise to use different engines.
EDIT: I hear ya, HotSnoJ, I hear ya, but the conversation is swinging this way now :)

I run spybot and adaware every once in a while. I would suggest using them both as spybot seems to catch some things that adaware doesn't, and vice versa.

Here is what you do....
1.Go to your Control Panel.
2.Go to Administrative Tools.
3.Double click 'Services'
4.Select 'Messenger' from the list, pick the one that says it is NOT Microsoft messenger ;)
5.Double click on it and set the Startup Type to 'Disabled'.
That'll get rid of some of them :)
Flipside :D

and stop using png. An [extremely] low quality jpg of about 25k could have sufficed.

Get them quick, before they get comfy.:D I finally had to remove some of the more annoying ones manually through the registry...then I mistakingly deleted a few things Windows needs...volume control program, stuff like that.:)
