okay.. what about this one?...
A single 'fighter' that's invisible, has no cockpit or HUD whatsoever, and is invulnerable to all...

the use?.. why an ingame camera of course perfect for ingame cutscenes, you could even set it up to "move about" to a predetermined path.. and it could actually be set up in FRED...

also another idea (maybe for a wishlist) but has anybody tried to make moveable figures in the FS2 engine?... might make for Freelancer style in engine cutscenes..

the first one is already possible using FRED, at least AFAIK. it has been done IIRC.

you mean squares and stuff? dunno, you _could_ make models and use fred to manipulate them, but otherwise, dunno.

Couldn't you use the AI control players ship sexp and have it go to predetermined waypoints?

that was what i was takling about. do a search for "in engine cutscenes" and you.ll find the first tests. it worked pretty well.
