The result of an afternoon messing around....
Might become my new desktop background, or at least the basis of it.....
-
looks like fake gold :)
-
looks like an environment map ;)
-
I LOVE THAT SHIP :)
-
Lightspeed: well, it's the best I could do...
Bobboau: yes, I use an Environment map:nod:
Ashrak: :D
You guys should what's joined it on the 'table'
A framed picture of......;7
-
mount it in the center of the model, it looks like the thing would bend now. Then remove a bit of shinieness, and tone the yellos down a bit. Make the highlights bright but small.
-
Out of curiosity, when did ONE 54K PIC become "image heavy"?
-
cool. very symbolic.
is it supposed to join in the middle of the disk?... cos it doesnt.
that would be a cool thing to put on a table in the office of a high ranking business man to fully intimidate everyone who came in.
-
some suggestions:
no ambient light
very very little diffuse color (nearly black)
the environment map should give you all the color.
-
Well Mikhael, I thought it (the image) would be bigger than that, I was expecting more images to come, and thinking about the 56ker's...
Icespeed, it's the persective. It is mounted centrally:)

see?
I must admit, I based the idea on that model of the Iceni Bosh had in that one cutsence.
Alright, Mk 2. It now has some company. I also removed the environment map, toned down the yellow, and reduced the shinyness to about 2/3rds. Trying to make it more 'Gold'

Think the desk in the Captains quarters...;7
I plan on added other stuff, like more pictures, maybe a book or two, possible B5 style link, etc...

Umh, dude, she's EVERYWHERE. Go in any magazine store, she's on 500 front covers. Its pretty annoying. I've seen so much of her I say "bleh" whenever I see anything with her on it.
She must be rich with all those commissions :doubt:
-
the gold looks a lot better already, now try to make the shadowed parts darker.. It needs to be almost black in some spots.
-
I must admit, she was not my first choice, but there was nothing better on my CPU. But you've got to admit, that pic is appropiate.
Surprised no-ones asked who the red-head is;)
Version 3. Played around with the single spotlight and some background fog.

what program are you using?
-
Your not going to belive me, but its all in TrueSpace 3.2 (Alright, the book came from a TS6 object libary)
-
I think the reflection off the model is way too high..... doesn't look right.

What setting is your anti-aliasing? Looks like its only 2x, try 4x.
And is the table bump mapped?
-
Polished gold, Shrike;)
Not sure about anti-aliasing. I'll have a look.
And no the table is not bump mapped (but the ships log is)
-
okay, so who's the redhead?
-
Looks like a rendered chic. Can't put my finger on the game.
You know what that pic is screaming out for? Volumetric spotlights. :D
-
I'll give you a hint: She is one of the few who have faced down a T-Rex, and survived. Twice;)
-
Is Agememnon spelled correctly??? I always thought it was Agamemnon myself...
-

-
Nice Buffy pic.
-
