I think that this has been asked before but i was wondering in an AI class could be made to make a capship move like a fighter, fight like a fighter but have the turret capibilitys of a destroyer without having to rearm itself??

They already fight like fighters if given orders to attack - and it looks horrible, casue they turn around too fast an move too fast for their size.

Yo, Wolf boy, you know you can put turrets on fighters now? At least I think that's... sort of what you meant

not quite. i was thinking of making some small cruisers along startreks dephiant type design a few primary mounts a couple of secondarys, fast, menuverable but never calling for a rearm while the rest of the fighters can.

That would be Gunship AI, discussed in another currently active thread. It shouldn't be that hard to find.
