Whatever deity you believe in (or if you're an atheist, God) has declared that you'll be dead in 24 hours no matter what you do. It/they have also decreed that you get one wish and a request.
What are they?
Your wish can be anything, but God will still kill you when your 24 hours are up. Your request is something that could feasibly be provided to you within the time-span.
Me, I'd go the memorable way:
I'd request a bottle of water and some comfy shoes, then I'd just go for a walk. And wish that there'd be glorious sunshine across the entire globe, but also light rain. As if the heavens had been lit as a beacon to my lost soul, and as if the Earth were weeping at my loss.
Beat that!

What an odd set of circumstances. This is probably one of those where you'd have to play it by ear.
Near as I can guess... I'd go for the Truth. 24 hours' worth of it, straight from the horses' mouth, as it were. I make no assumptions as to the existence of some sort of bizarre life after death, whether there's an all-powerful entity or not, so that'd be worth it. Don't know what exactly you're angling at for "request"- a wish that wouldn't get fulfilled? Oh, great.

Sure it is."What's your last request before being brutally consumed by divine fire?", is about as ultimate as you can get.

Personally, I prefer ultimate questions more along the lines of "Hey, what's this button do?"

I'd wish to unite all the races in the Milky Way (if there are any except for us here , and I belive there are) and bring glory and bliss to the humanity.
That's one sure way to be remembered!:D

I'd wish for my memory to carry on timelessly, and be remembered with fondness in the hearts of all the people's of the world :D
And then I'd wish for world peace, and a beer.

well....id wish to be imortal for 24 hours :).....id rob a bank.....buy a nice maclaren F1 crash it kill millions of people......**** every chik on the planet and die with a happy soul :p

Id wish for the power of god for that next 24 hours. I could have fun, help out the world and make it so that I was able to live that 24 hours over and over again.

I'd probably do something Arthur C. Clarke-ish, you know, like imploding Jupiter into a star and saying

or something. Of course I'd then need to advance society into an advanced technological state so they could use them, but whatever. Space Odyssey rules.

I, and athiest, wouldn't be in this situation because deity's only exist when you worship them.
But, for that sake of argument, lets say there is a holy being and I was given this choice.
1. I'd wish for eternal serenity in my afterlife.
2. I'd request, after I die, my own universe where I am this un-named holy being.
Then, i'd go out, find some good friends and spend my last day talking to those that mean the most to me.

lets be literal. Dead in 24 hours no matter what (wishes and requests can't alter that so I shouldn't waste them)...
I get 1 wish, sounds like a done deal, as for the request, that may or may not be granted..that's iffy wording...
Let's see... I'd wish for a complete program that humans can recreate that enables the human concoiusness to occupy machine conciouness (AI) and also be transported back again to huamn body... Then the request would be when the 24 hours were up to have my conciousness placed in a android body (move over Data!)... Thereby my sacrifice would be a boon to medicine, exploration, and the military...
Going for the heroic angle here...

Id ask to be forgiven for all my sins and be excepted into heaven.

One minor request while I was still alive, I would want the ability to see everyones soul, they say the soul gives off an aurora. the aurora is described as being the amount of faith the person has in god, the brighter the aurora is, the higher amount of faith they have.. :)
