You should make a texture to look like the armor from Voyagers' final episode. I thought it looked really cool. And it's a good excuse to give a fighter or cruiser bigger hitpoints. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

It's my customized Mercury interceptor, with 20 gunpoints, a top speed of 650.5 mps, and quantam-crystalline armor.

The debris? I can't remember... Oh now I remember I got it at an old FS2 website. It was hosted by Ross128, it was called Ikeya Productions. You could download different backrounds, nebulas, poofs, and subspace maps. It probably dosen't exist anymore, I think Thunder ran it.

No, the textures have bump maps (you see them better on the hull size versions) but the main 3D effect is because, well..... they ARE 3D models. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

I think they have the space debris at FSW.

hehe, reminds me how I map many of my models: I make a high poly of it, make 4 view renders, and use them as maps for the lower poly versions (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Nice textures. I like the "plates" (#2 & #4) the most.
Has anyone ever switched textures in game, short of putting two ships in the same area and doing warp-in warp-outs?
