Whats the command line and procedure for playing the AVI version of the cutscenes in fs2?
-
u dont need a c-line. Just slap the .avi into the main Fs2 dir.
-
tried it.. didnt work. I remember reading somwhere that i do need a c line.
-
You used to but the SCP probably decided that since everyone was turning it on anyway why make them need a command line.
If you're still using an old version of FS2_open you'll need to type -dshowvid into the command line
-
I have the latest Fs2_open from December 5th. Ill try the command line anyway.
-
Hmm. Does the intro not play either? It really should even if the others don't.
-
How difficult would it be to make an intro for the SCP?
-
Not hard but I don't see much point. Who's it for? If it's for newbies they really should be getting the standard FS2 intro since they won't have seen it before.
If it's for the vetrans then it would interfere with the newbies getting the standard intro.
-
K, I asked the SCP lads about this but they ignored me. Some movies play just fine, but some play and then FS2 quits to desktop afterwards instead of restoring. The intro was OK, the first monologue was OK, but the second and thrid monologues and the Colossus movie didn't work. The fourth monologue worked perfectly.
Anyone else get this?
-
nothing plays, and when i exit freespace, i exit back to windows but the game is still open and then my computer locks up.
-
Yup, there was a discussion recently about the moviesnot working. Apparently they still have to fix some things about it.

Anyways... I for one hope the SCP can find a permanent fix.
Cheers!

In my opinion that is true, but you can add you intro after the standar intro, I think that will look good
-
Well MindGames will have its own intro. I suspect that several of the other campaigns that are underway also plan to have this feature so I don't really see the point.
If you add the movie straight afterwards it probably will mean that now you have to press escape twice to skip two movies rather than one about 90% of the times you play FS2.
*Suspects the new guy just wants to see animations of FS2 ships flying about. Can't blame him for that* :D
Anyway
:welcome:
