there are some small easily spotted mistakes in that but i will point them out

1. There was only 1 Lucifer SuperDestroyer in FS1
2. when you are talking about the motto of the NTF you put terrain instead of terran
3. the encounter with the shivans with the psamtik was very late in the game (when they met the second Sathanas) they returned near the beginning Through the Knossos Device During the Middle of the NTF rebellion

these were some of the obvious mistakes that i managed to spot

FS1 port is finished (they are working on silent threat reborn though), and is up to version 2 so you don't have to get the original unless you need to see the movies from it.

also you forgot to mention alternate modding like the incredible babylon5 project and numerous WIP's like Starwars/startrek/Wing Commander. Plus at any time there are like 10 main story campaings in the making...

Please mention that in comparison to other games of its type it is the easiest to mod for as I a completely unskilled person can attest to it!

You could mention a reatail search at Schoolpop.com (type in by hand:  Freespace 2) and there are two merchants who ordered new disks to be run 2 months ago! One sells it for $29.99 and the other for $19.99

That's about it, bang up job though!

I'd reccomend removing the hotu link... since not all the games they have are fully legal, that could get us in a bind with legalities... Putting someones faq on getting FS2 in would probably be better... And also make sure that when you do send it, you don't get those abbreviated links put in by the vb code...

For an faq if you like, you can use my "HowToGetFreeSpace" FAQ: www.expage.com/06palaro

Also, the SW conversion will most likely NOT have FS2 ships in it, but thats pretty much all I can say...

You might also want to mention that the graphics have significantly improved with the Source Code Project, bringing it on par with other space sims(imo, its even better than anything else i've seen). So yeah.

edited to reflect the suggestions. It will point to Karajoma's FAQ as a source to get the game.

Noticed another mistake.... 32 yeas have passed between FS2 and 1, not 30.

EDIT: Neo-Terran Front, not Neo-Terra Front

Technically it's freeware...

Technically, it's not.  Nowhere has Volition or Interplay stated that it is alright to freely distribute FS2, and while they haven't objected yet, that doesn't matter legally.

I only bring that up because it may stop a publication from running your review.

Edited the last portion to reflect this.
What do you all think? is it ready for submission?

Nope.  There are spelling errors and unnecessary random capitalisations all over the place, and still several major errors in your account of the storyline.

Then for heaven's sake! Help me correct myself! The former can be easily corrected in word, but the latter......help!

ummmmm......question. Did you read the first review or the second one which i've been updating? The first one is the original thing- no edits. The second one is constantly changing. All the capitalized letters are for Proper Nouns or names, but if this is incorrect, I will re-edit.

Another bug: the GTVA was founded before FS2, not in FS1. In FS1 it still only was an alliance between the PVN and the GTA.

It wasnt really that much of an alliance, it was more of a cease-fire-to-destroy-the-shivans pact. The alliance is the GTVA.

Still a mistake:

No destroyer could follow the lucifer into subspace. The Bastion was too slow and so our hero Alpha 1 and a few wingmates had to destroy the lucifers reactor cores all by themselves.

Also, Graphics: 6 is definately not good enough. FS2vanilla still looks better than most of today's space sims. ;)

So they never sent a destroyer into the node and Alpha wing had to do it? Edited

In fact, just a few days ago, a campaign called homesick was released just a few days ago),

There's one little mistake for you :) Also, a little tutorial on the use of its and it's is in order:
Other than me being pedantic, that's great! It might be a good idea to get lots of people sending it to as many magazines as possible. Especially for the SCP bit, otherwise people might think that someone is just reminiscing on the past and get images of Wing Commander look-a-likes. Does the magazine give you a choice to send them a few images as well? Screenshots will help compound the emphasis on good graphics now the SCP is along.

ok.
It's going in today, i've edited as much as possible, hopefully the editor their won't have much of a problem with the rest. For screenshots, i'll point them to the HLP gallery, which has plenty of shots.

As soon as the mail is sent, this thread will be deleted. If anyone else wants to use this review, PM me.

Well, actually, I made that post and then decided I'd do an in depth edit for you.  But two thirds of the way through, I had a system hang and had to reboot.  I didn't feel inclined to start over again unless there was an exchange of money involved.
