Has anyone converted some of the .max and .3ds files in Aldo's modeldump 4 to POF or COB (I would prefer POF) or would be willing to do so? I would, but I don't have 3DSMax and I don't feel like spending thousands on a computer program, so...

Most of the stuff is untextured too. You'd need to specifically grab a modder and ask them to convert a particular ship. Or you could ask Woomeister; he likes converting things.
-
Okay, I'm going to contact him. I'm rather interested in the Skadi, which judging from its textures will look pretty cool.
-
I've already converted the Skadi for Inferno.
-
Woo, you're like a virus. Models show up, and there you are, grabbing them and subverting them for Inferno. ;)
The man is a machine.

Well I am trying to complete my fleets :D
-
First: Thousands? More like 300-500. (mind you, thats the educational version)
Second: Why do you have a CoW avatar Woom?
-
I guess because I beta tested it.
-
oh. :D
-
I have a few done, but they've been altered a bit for AotD...
Damn, I pimp that campaign like it was my own... Oh well, most of the ship mods are being done by me, at the moment anyway...
-
However true that is, I beleive you were supposed to avoid pimping it for the time being until I.. umm.. 'unveil' it.
Oh well, project pride can never be bad, and I supose any publicity is better than none at all. Although I'd prefer none for the moment. ;)
-
I have converted some of them, too. But they are for my own project so there is no release planned at the moment.
-
Y'know, that's just cruelty...

Well, I did change the geometry on some of them quite a bit...
