Title: Help!
Post by: Singh on December 11, 2003, 07:09:05 am
I currently have a Nvidia Riva 128ZX card, but I can't play FS2 since it says that I have no 3d acceleration or 3D Glide on the driver (or the card, I have no idea which). Any idea where I can get a latest driver for this?

Does this little freespacer ever have the hope of playing the glory of a game that is FS2? :(

You could try: www.dll-files.com (http://www.dll-files.com) for your driver.

Does the Riva 128ZX even have 3D acceleration capability?  Its got to be very limited...and it definately does not have Glide.  Thats for 3DFX cards of the same era.

nVidia make drivers for the 128/128ZX available on their site but if you're using anything later than about 98FE (98SE changed the driver model so it may or may not work) you can forget it:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/riva_drivers

heh, as a testament to how old this chip is, there's even a Windows 3.1 driver for it on there...

Buy a new card, you can probably get a decent one(Geforce 4 MX 440 64mb) for about $50-60 US.

You can find older but better video cards than you have right now for $20 Canadian (which is like $15 American)...its very doable.
