I cannot get a new graphics card until after Christmas. In the meantime does anyone have any idea on how to get opengl 1.2 or higher for an s3 card?

If you're hard pressed for cash, there are some alternatives to a new card, if you can find them, that can still run FS2....
The older Rage 128s, the TNT2s, hell, a Voodoo3 if you can find one....

Well FS2 is so dependant on CPU power anyway you wouldn't need an insanely powerful video card.

The latest SCP work is moving some of the strain away from CPU to videocard actually.  Thats why HT&L mode has a doubling effect on the frame rates and the frame rates never actually drop :D (not for me anyways).

I just had a poke around and found a link to this site:

http://www.savagenews.com/drivers/drivers.php

which has drivers for a number of obsolete cards, perhaps there's a newer driver for yours (several models of S3 card are listed) too.
