Wohoo! It's here!
No, not the movie but the trailer. And that's very good indeed
http://www.starwreck.com/
And for those who ask what the hell is Star Wreck (:eek2: ), I give you the answer.
Star Wreck is a comedy/parody series made by a bunch of finnish students. It started as a Trek parody with pretty primitive 3d-animations and cartoons. Nonetheless, the first 4 "movies" were hilarious. But Star Wreck 4 1/2 and 5 introduced actors. Yeah, they might be amateurs, and yeah, the effects aren't that good at today's standards. But I was laughing all the time to the antics of Captain James B. Pirk and his retarded crew.
Now, after years of waiting, the end is near. These guys are going to release a full 2 hour movie. And without doubt, they are going to raise the level of fan made independent films to a totally new level.
See for youself. If nothing else blows you away, at least the space battles should drop your jaw through the floor ;)
-
"Finnish". Get it right. :p
Never cared much about Wreck myself but I will watch the movie when it's out, not going to bother with the trailer though.
-
quite funny. Excellent graphics in the trailer. Will keep my eye out for the DVD- can't wait to watch this (but it better have subtitles)
-
Yeah. The graphics are worth the download even if you don't find it funny (and I found it fairly amusing)
This should be worth seeing when they "Finnish" it

You should be shot for that one.

Aah! I made a spelling error! AAAAH! :D
Fixed...

As an ex-Trekkie whose Trekkie-ness dwindled rapidly when I stopped having time to read the books, I've got to check this out.
Galaxy Quest was great. ;)
-
I wonder how many people on these forums are Trekkies who have been disillusioned by Voyager/Enterprise.....
-
<--Loathes most Sci-Fi. Weird. Though the one thing I did like about the original series of 'trek is that it never took itself too seriously.

I was never quite a trekkie but voyager/enterprise (especially voyager) have done a lot to spoil my enjoyment of trek. To be honest DS9 started it though. The first season was very poor and although it picked up towards the end DS9 was the first series I stopped watching.
-
My Trekkieness was limited primarily to the movies and the books - we haven't had a TV since I was 10 years old (1989), so I haven't been able to watch the episodes of any particular ST series.
-
to drift back on topic...
trailer looks good, will definitely be seeing the movie when it comes. maybe.
-
First Conatact is the best ST movie! Nemesis sucks!
The Next Generation is the best series!(Picard Rulez!!)
Voyager sucks heavily. Enerpreise is...mediocre.
-
I liked Voyager, and Enterprise looked...somewhat cool, only watched most of the first season.
ST: TNG was good, although...too much stuff to do with time travel, and time loops and plot holes and loop holes and...stuff that has to deal with Klingons...
Meh, haven't seen the trailer, and probably won't...damn 56k...
-
I can't get more than about 10mb of the trailer. Anyone got a .torrent?
-
Never mind. I got it.
That was pretty funny, but I'm hoping Pirk loses in the end. Babel 13 must triumph! ;)
-
Ahhh, I was almost hoping they'd released the full thing - seems we've all been waiting an eternity. ;) But it'll be worth it, I expect. SW1-5 have provided me hours of enjoyment. :D

HAHAHAHHA!
voyager has more plot holes and time travel than all the other series combined!
-
ah I'm really waiting to see this one
-
prepare for the centuries largest fragfest LOL! ;7
-
pretty good:)
-
*has seen three Trek movies and about 10 Trek episodes (TNG and TOS). Wasn't intrigued*
-
stu....this is NOT your ORDINARY arround the block star trek....WATCH THE TRAILER MAN!

I beg to differ. Enterprise already has to be way ahead of Voyager in these respects. Plot holes are more Trek-lore-wise than specifically regarding a certain episode (detailed scans of Borg a hundred years before E-D encountered them? And Data didn't have the slightest clue what they were on the first contact with them?? :wtf: ), and as for time travel - hah! The whole overriding and recurring plot of Enterprise is this Temporal Cold War.
...not that they haven't been, for the most part, very good episodes this 3rd season... :nervous:
EDIT: Ok, just watched the trailer. Didn't even find it mildly funny, but from the parts that my eyes were able to catch in-between twitching from the screen to the subtitles and back, it looked like they have some EXTREMELY talented 3D artists and stuff - I don't think I've ever seen special effects that impressive.
-
They also directly contradict Voyager in the very title of the show. According to Voyager, the NX-01 was the Dauntless. Not to mention the fact that they completely screwed up the Romulans and gave them cloaking devices (anyone remember "The Enterprise Incident" from TOS?)....
EDIT: Sorry, wrong episode. I meant "Balance of Terror".
-
Another example of this is the Ferengi's appearance in the first season. Why would no one on the Stargazer recognize them?

And had the Rihannsu (sp?) call themselves "Romulans", too. :doubt:

Yeah, although at least they didn't mention the name "Ferengi" at all.
-
I don't care about the plot holes that much. I care about the crappy writing.
For instance they recently showed the Season 2 episode where Hoshi turns invisible. It was a good enough episode until the bit where they decided that they hadn't got a clue how to end it and decicded it was all a dream.
Seriously if that is the best they can up with for an episode it's time to give up doing trek for a few years.
-
I have an odd feeling we're going to have this entire series be obliterated in the final season by "Year of Hell" syndrome. The entire series wiped off the map. Either that, or a new show set in the TOS era of the "new" Trek universe.

Yeah, all those hints Daniels has dropped about various things never having taken place according to "his" future timeline... but while I'm not surprised to find them doing those "nothing-really-happened-at-all" plots on an episodal basis, I'd be very surprised to discover that they drop that same kind of thing on us at a seasonal - or, even worse, a series - level. :doubt:
Related to timelines altering, I've been reading through a book by Orson Scott Card, called "Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Colombus". It's quite a book, dealing very adeptly with timelines, time vs. causality (Merovingian, anyone?), etc etc. Quite a good read.

I'll have to keep an eye out for that. OSC writes pretty interesting stuff although I've only read the Ender & Bean books.

So where might I download Star Wreck 1-5? They're not on the site, and I can't find any mirrors.
