I've release three chapters for my campaign, and I would like some feed back. What's good, what's bad, whatever to help me make the next chapter better. Any input would be much appreciated. Follow the link in the signature to the home page.

Why does it crash when trying to select some of your new weapons?

In game or tech room? I think one of the weapons I've used doesn't get along with the game in one way or another. I know the all work in the missions though. The biggest beef I've got shows up in chapter 2 and 3. Sometimes the game doesn't go to the next mission, but that easily bypassed, just go back into game and continue playing. I think I found the problem and it won't be repeated in chapter 4, if it's what I think it is.

It crashes at the weapon select screen.

Hmmm. Which chapter and which mission? I'll look into that.

Any chapter and any mission with new weapons.

Well, chapter 1 involves no mods what-so-ever, flat Freespace 2, so that should run just fine. Just a thought, do you have your own custom tables? If so, you have change to the tables I provided for the campaign. It works fine for me and many others, but if it the problem pops up with you then maybe it did with others as well. Let me know the results.

What I mean is any chapter with new stuff. meaning chapters 2 and 3.

Still persisting? :confused: Hmmm. This is indeed aggravating. :wtf: I'll bring the campaign up as if I had nothing but what I provide in the downlods, and see what happens.

I like your Storyline. If only the download limit for Chapter One hasn't been reached...

I'll make it short: Your work is great! I really like it.
Please don't let this project die, like the over hundreds of Freespace 2 campaigns. It may sound silly, but this campaign probably makes a lot of people happy. For every person posting here are at least 50 who played it and don't bother to post but are happy with your work.
So, keep it up :)!

Did you do something fishy on your missions that might cause this (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,20193.0.html) ?
I ran into that problem while playing Chapter 1, and it hasn't ever happened in any other campaign or a MOD. The standard campaign works fine, so my install ain't exactly broken, but whenever I try the mission OFF.fs2 I get crashed to desktop after 30 secs~1 min mission time.

Odd, truly odd. That has never happened before. The mission in question is the largest one I've ever made, maybe its the problem is that there simply too much going on at one time for the computer to handle it. I've run it countless times and have not have a problem.

Chapter 4 has hit a bit of a snag. I have to use a blackhole background, but ever since installing a background generator program my computer won't accept new backgrounds. I'm using a friends computer to build chapter 4, but my time on that computer is limited, so I've started work on chapter 5 to make constructive use of time that I can't work on chapter 4. In a perfect world, I'll probably release both at the same time.

Good news. By some freak chance of inspiration, I've found a way around the problem in chapter 4, which means everything is back on schedule.

I'm still stuck on that mission in chapter 1.
I guess i'll retry and pray. (as theres newer SCP builds now).

Maybe the problem is that your using SCP builds. When I built the mission I was only using what came with FS2.

I'm a long time lurker on this board and Freespace fan, and I've been really enjoying your campaigns, enough to make a post :)
I was getting the strange crashed on chapters 2 and 3 as well, so out of curiosity I fired up the latest build of fred2 open, that does all the table debugging.
It found a lot of errors your ship and weapon tables, which it reported as errors that wouldn't stop the misson from loading, but could cause Freespace 2 to crash. You might want to download it yourself (if you haven't) and use it to debug the tables. I found tons of bugs in my own campaign with it, its very useful.

I had a slight problem with backgrounds. For some reason my computer is having a ***** of a time with new backgrounds, which meant that I had to piece together a "black hole" using a bunch of arrange nebulas. Then I had an idea which led to making the mission way more challenging, and actually helped the story line a lot. Needless to say the chapter 4 road block has been resolved. ETA not long.
The good thing is that I did get some work done on chapter 5, so at least that is ahead of schedule.

I also had a crash every time I tried to choose new weapons - or actually, any weapons "down" from Prometheus S. Clicking the arrow button always caused a crash. And still causes. Guess it's because I use open (3.5.5 1_20_2004 build with thruster hybrids and so on).

Have you made a new pilot for the campaign?

^ Yes, I did.
But the problems becomes apparent in the mission, where you have to scan the probes, and after that I have to use default weaponry, at least primary, if I want anything else than Subach/Prom combo. And therefore default ships.

OK, another problem [not that I've solved even the last one]..
I made another directory, /ITDOH_3 for Chapter 3. I then copied altered tables and data from ITDOH_2 to it and installed chapter3 .vp-file, as said in the readme.txt.
However, as I try to run the mission, it accuses me of not having Scimitar.pof and MissileXX [?].pofs.

Is the problem with selecting the new weapons fixed yet?

I have a problem with the Daedalus (sp?) fighter. If I select it in the tech room, FS2 crashes. If I try to fly it, FS2 crashes. Some help please? But nonetheless, a really cool campaign. It's got my attention (which is pretty hard to get)!

This has prompted me to drastically revise the previous chapters. I'm going to make chapter 4 a self contained chapter, as #2 appears to be the source of most of my problems.
