So, again, I'm trying to play Blaise Russle's new campaign.
Last time, I tried to play it with all the new SCP enhancements, which more or less either slowed down my framerate to difficult levels or randomly crashed Freespace. I know I've been needing to upgrade my GeForce 2 for a while. Whatever.
So thinking I'd just play it with a clean FS2, I take out all the SCP files. Go to play, and as soon as I hit continue in the main hall, I get this.
Error: Out of memory. Try closing down other applications, increasing your
virtual memory size, or installing more physical RAM.

Now, I've never gotten this before when playing FS, and I have 512 mb of ram, so I really don't think that's the problem. I get this on everything except Phreak's builds IIRC, and I know the campaign uses the Inferno VP, so is there something that Inferno needs to run that's in Phreak's Builds now?
EDIT: Nevermind, it only works on the latest SCP build. Here's what I get when I use Phreaks old build.

no - someone increased fs2 memory footprint imensely since 3.5.5 and I would like to know who
i need some sort of tool that will automatically tell me where memory allocations occur, and tell me the size (actual size of static, variable size of variable) -- and even better if it can do it during run time

I started a thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,19612.0.html) about this in the General FS forum, Kosh says he had this problem and changing pilots did the trick. Doesn't help me any though, cos I'm trying to play Inferno and see the Earth which isn't displayed with ht&l.

What I meant was that if I created a pilot in either FSO or retail, I could only use it in that one and not the other. If I were playing INF in FSO, I could not just go and use the same pilot in regular retail. It might actually be related. You never know.....
EDIT: Btw, I use version 3.5.5.
